Imagine:
"Y/n, you're coming home with me now."
I sigh and shuffle away from him. "You sound like my dad," I say, slurring the 's' a little.
I push away from Shawn and stumble back onto the driveway to return to the party. I miss the pavement as my foot touches the edge of it, but I don't fall. An arm catches my waist and picks me up. Before I know it, I'm draped over Shawn's shoulder. I kick my legs about and try to slide off him but it's no use.
He laughs. "Y/n, you're not even trying 'cause you're drunk. We need to go home to a safe place."
I moan. "I'm not drunk! I was having fun, I made new friends..."
"New friends huh? Do friends spike drinks? Or force them to do stuff?"
"They didn't do anything!" I scream at him. "Let go of me!"
He continues to carry me to god knows where and then plonks me down on the ground. I cross my arms across my chest and Shawn laughs at me. "What?" I ask.
"You're getting stroppy like a toddler."
I scowl at him. "That's 'cause you're treating me like one."
I turn around to start walking back to the house party but Shawn blocks my way. He lifts me up into his arms and takes me over to his jeep. "Let go of me Shawn! I'm not a baby!"
He ignores me and puts me in the passenger seat before making his way to the driver's seat. I try to open the door but it's on lock. God, he's got everything covered.
"Shawn! Take me back! They'll be wondering where I am."
Shawn laughs at me. "Y/n, do you really think so? Look at me." He gently turns my chin so I look at him. "Trust me on this one Y/n, but they couldn't care less about you. I'm taking you back to mine, where you'll be safe."
I stay quiet as I realise what Shawn said is true. The girls I were with never wanted to be my friend. They only 'hung out' with me and made me do things I didn't want to. Man I feel sorry for myself. I face away from Shawn and close my eyes. The drinks I had are starting to make my head pound.
"We're here Y/n," Shawn says. He shuts the engine and we both stay in the car in silence.
I stare out of the window straight ahead. "Thank you," I whisper. "Thank you for-"
He chuckles. "You don't have to say anything." He locks his fingers around mine and rubs the back of my hand with his thumb. "Just know I'm right here whenever no one else is. I'll always be there for you, and only you."
