Shawn's POV:

I hear the front door shut and there's footsteps into the kitchen.

"Honey, I'm home," Y/n says. I look at her and her face looks more tired than ever. She comes over to hug me as I plant a kiss on her forehead.

"How was work today? You don't look too good."

"We got a call from headquarters and they're changing everything we worked so hard for..."

"I think you should quit. It's not healthy for you to be this stressed already." I press my thumb on the skin between her eyebrows, trying to smooth out the crease that's already beginning to form.

She sighs. "I can't quit now. This could be amazing for the company."

"I know, I know, but you've got to care that much for yourself too."

Y/n sighs again and takes a seat at the marble counter. "What's for dinner?"

"I made your favourite: Italian style linguine and tiramisu for dessert."

She chuckles gently as she pulls a bottle of wine out of the chiller. "Look at us. We're acting like a married couple."

I pretend to act offended and point at my ring as she laughs. "Excuse me, we are a married couple."

We sit down at the dining table I prepared earlier, where I laid the table out, perfect for a candle-lit dinner. I watch Y/n relax as she sits eating her food happily as we talk. I swirl the wine around in my glass, waiting for her to finish dessert. She notices me watching her.

"I still can't get over how fast you eat. I have to say, I didn't realise you were wearing that shirt. And unbuttoned?" She raises an eyebrow at me. "Did you have a meeting?"

I shake my head. "No, I thought I'd join in with the smart and sexy attire."

She rolls her eyes. "Please, don't use that word. We're old and married now."

"Twenty-three is still young actually. And I think the word suits you just fine. You know, I feel like your job has aged you mentally. But definitely not your figure." I wink at her and watch her groan but I manage to make her smile.

I get up and walk to the docking station, changing the music to Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect'. I walk back to Y/n and clear my throat. "May I have this dance?"

She giggles and takes me hand. I pull her close to me and place her hands around my neck as my hands rest on her waist. Her beautiful, smiling face looks up at me as we sway to the music slowly. We listen to the lyrics and just stare into each other's eyes. I could never get bored of Y/n's eyes. It's like they extend out into infinity and I can see everything in them. I take one of her hands and twirl her around, watching her turn elegantly just like at prom.

She faces me again.

"Do you remember prom?" I ask her. She nods her head before resting it on my chest.

I smile as I continue. "It was exactly five years ago today. You amazed me every single day in high school, and then you took my breath away at prom. Since then, you've never stopped looking so perfect."

I lift her face up and stop dancing. "This song always reminds me of you Y/n. And every time I listen to it, I think of you and how perfect you are."

The music comes to an end and I sing the last part for Y/n. "I don't deserve this, you look perfect tonight."

We stay in silence for a few seconds just admiring each other. I lean forward and press my lips onto hers and kiss her deeply, my mind filled with fireworks and stars. I smile and pull away, stroking Y/n's cheek as she looks bright and flushed as always after we kiss.

"I love you Y/n," I whisper.

"I love you too Shawn."
