Part 4- Imagine:
I get off the bus and cross the road with Shawn.
"So... how was your first day?" He asks me.
"Could've been better," I mumble.
"But you were hanging out with us! You looked like you were having fun." Shawn drops me off at my door and looks at me. "If you want, you can come to my place and we can do some homework together."
I nod my head and smile. "That would be great thanks. I'll see you in an hour." I watch him walk a little until he reaches next door and we both enter our houses at the same time.
"Hi honey! How was your day at elementary school?" My mum asks, emphasising elementary.
I think of the girls snickering and staring at my clothes, the way I talked and how I only hung around with boys. All the girls were already friends, and different to the ones back home in the way they dressed, no wonder they laughed at my boyish choice of clothes.
I shrug. "Yeah I guess it's alright," I say. "Very different to home." I feel a sudden sadness as I miss primary school and running around in the fields, where here, everyone is cooped up like chickens. "Mum, can I go round Shawn's? He said we can work together on our homework."
"Sure sweetie. Come have your tea first."
I knock on the door and Shawn's mum answers, Aaliyah on her waist.
"Evening Mrs Mendes," I say with a smile.
"Just call me Karen, okay? Come on in, he's up in the study room."
That's one thing I like about moving to Canada. All the houses are huge, and there's so much more space. I push the door open and see Shawn scribbling away. "Watcha doing?" I ask and he jumps, hiding a worn notebook away.
"N-nothing," he mumbles and blushes.
"Right," I say slowly. I sit on the floor and tip my backpack upside down, sorting through my books as Shawn joins me.
"Did you understand what Mr Ball was saying in Math?"
I nod my head. "Sort of-"
"Great! You can help me with that."
"But you said you'd help me with my History work-"
"We can do that after, it's simple."
I sigh and start explaining division to him.
**2 years later**
I slap him on the arm with my textbook.
"Ow!" Shawn yells.
I giggle but then change to a serious face. "Come on, you need to focus. You suck at Maths."
"And you suck at History," he yells at me.
"Shawn? Y/n? Are you doing work or not?"
"We are!" we both yell back at Karen.
We keep quiet for several minutes and work, but after a while Shawn breaks the silence. "So, you going to the Christmas disco tomorrow night?"
I burst out laughing and Shawn joins in nervously, but then I realise he's being serious. "Are you serious Shawn?"
"You're right, it's a stupid question. It's not really you right?"
"Aren't the other guys going?" I ask him.
He looks down at his book and blushes. "Actually, I wanted you to go with me."
I stare at him.
"As friends of course," he adds quickly.
"I'm not sure Shawn."
"It's okay, I was only asking."
It's Friday night, which means the Christmas disco. I watched Shawn leave for it as he goes with Brian. I try to concentrate on my homework, but I can't help thinking about the disco I'm missing out on. How long has it been? It's not too late to go is it?
I'm so sorry this is posted late. Idek if you can remember the previous parts but just go with it. Most of these imagines are uploaded from my instagram (which I'm not active on) so I'll keep adding them here with new imagines in between.
