Imagine: Fall has officially started in Canada, which means spiced lattes from Starbucks, woolly jumpers, and most of all, lots of cuddles from Shawn. I stand infront of the counter and wait patiently for my pumpkin spiced latte.
"Y/n?"
I look up as my drink is ready. I smile at the guy who hands me my cup. "You can have my number too if you want?" The barista flirts.
I open my mouth to reply back but an arm snakes around my waist and whisks me away. "Sorry, but she's taken."
I feel soft lips press against mine which smile as I pull away. I look up and see Shawn beside me. He grins as he takes a sip of my drink before I do.
"That's mine," I huff.
"Whatever is yours is mine," Shawn says and winks.
I roll my eyes as he hands me back the latte, and I warm my hands up around the cup. I sip the drink slowly, letting the spicy goodness roll in my mouth. I feel it soothe me and warm me up.
"So where are we heading?"
"A museum," Shawn replies.
"Is this for your History project? Because you don't have a lot of stuff-"
He smiles and cuts in. "No, nothing to do with school."
I raise my eyebrows and continue to sip my drink. "Right."
"You know there's that museum in town? The old, majestic one that should really belong in Toronto?"
I nod my head.
"And you know how it's Fall already? You get the best view of Central Park."
"And you know this because...?"
He runs his hand through his hair impatiently. "I did some history work up on a balcony in the summer, and yeah, I thought of you and how beautiful it would look during Fall."
I smile up at him and lock my fingers with his as we walk together towards the museum.
We enter through the revolving doors and I immediately look up at the historic ceiling. I can't help myself, it's something I've always done as I walk in. Our shoes echo between the floor to the walls as we make our way upstairs to the cafe. Shawn greets the senior cafe worker, who smiles so much I swear she's lighting up the room.
"Hello dear," she calls at him. "Doing more History projects?"
"Actually, I've come to show my girlfriend the views from here."
She nods her head as I introduce myself and turns to Shawn. "You seem to be a lucky young lad to get a pretty girl like Y/n. Make sure you treat her right."
I laugh, my cheeks blushing a little. "Don't worry about that Ma'am. I feel I'm the luckiest girl in the world."
Shawn takes my hand and we make our weave inbetween the tables and chairs until we push the door open and step out onto the balcony.
The cool breeze chills my face as my eyes scan the whole park. I see people walking slowly here and there, the grass so bright with bits of brown and amber shades scattered around- the fallen leaves. I hear the rustling of leaves as the wind makes the trees sway to the side and lose several leaves.
"This is so beautiful," I whisper.
Shawn presses his body against mine as he hugs me from the back. He rests his chin on my shoulder as we sway from side to side, watching everything.
"I can't wait till we can jump in some leaves," I say, blushing becaue I sound so childish.
"Maybe that's our next plan," Shawn replies, and kisses the edge of my jaw.
