Chapter 24

"Mom this isn't fair!"

"Do not tell me what's fair or not, young lady! You are grounded and that is that."

My mom seemed intent on ruining my life- therefore grounding me. My parents were blowing this whole thing out of proportion. My dad was even too angry to yell at me and insisted on just glaring at me the entire time my mother went on her lecture rage.

I fought the urge to roll my eyes at them and tuned back into my mom's rampage.

"-and your father are going to go and you will stay right here."

"Wait, what?"

"It will give you some time to think over your actions."

She crossed her arms and stared down at me on the couch.

They were going to go some where and leave me here all day tomorrow. We've been planning this trip for a while and now it looks like I have the privilege to stay home and do nothing at all.

I sighed loudly and peeked up at my dad who was shaking his head at me.

"What were you doing in the woods anyway Hayden?" he spoke up for the first time.

"Please just don't ask." I mumbled out, putting my head in my hands.

I did not feel like explaining that I was going crazy to my already concerned parents.

This reply made my parents get even more angry at me.

After another lecture on how I wasn't acting normal and making good choices by lying, I finally got sent to my room.

After shutting the door and turning the light off, I fell onto my bed staring at the ceiling.

My past was becoming more unclear the harder I thought back to it.

I couldn't understand why everything was suddenly taking a toll on me.

I took in a sharp breath as I let my heart crumble.

I then unintentionally cried myself to sleep.
