"Time's running out."

Shawn

"We got Trevor in the interrogation room and he claims he had no idea what you're talking about." Matt said as he walked back into the room.

I stood by the fax machine as the documents involving Maddox's father arrived. Jess sat down at the table looking through the papers I was handing her looking for anything out of the ordinary. The sun was about to start rising meaning it was almost about to be 24 hours.

24 hours and nothing, no leads not even a hint of where Maddox was. With every hour passing by my hope started to lessen. But then as I looked at Jess and Matt and how they weren't giving up I remembered I couldn't either.

I shook off the thought and continued to hand Jess the papers. I looked over at Matt who was still waiting for a response.

"Boss?" I asked.

"Keep him close, don't let him leave town and have someone watching him." He explained from the speaker.

Matt nodded before walking out of the room. The machine then stopped signaling there was no more. I gathered the rest before walking over to Jess. She was looking through one pile so I grabbed another.

"Okay so all I'm getting is he clearly hasn't been paying his taxes." Jess said sounding sleepy.

I shook my head, "A guy who owns big banks can't even pay taxes?"

"Abuse of power." Jess chimed in.

I looked through bank plans and where he had expanded the company. One being really close actually.

"Hey do you have any flight information or where he's been recently?" I asked her.

She looked through the papers and pulled one out, "Uh yeah he was in Mexico for a few days before flying back in LA a few weeks ago."

"Why was he in Mexico?" I asked.

She shrugged, "It doesn't say, there's not even a bank over there. Maybe he wants to expand?"

"So her dad's in town and she goes missing? He was just in Mexico did Hernandez have any men in Mexico while he was in Argentina?" I asked talking to my boss.

"Yes that's the first place we looked when looking for Hernandez. Why do you think he might've gotten in touch with someone? Using his own daughter as leverage?" He asked.

Just the thought of that made me uneasy. How could you give up your daughter when she was born then want to appear 22 years later to abduct her. Just so that he can give her away to whoever it was in Mexico?

I hoped for his own sake that he didn't have anything to do with this. Because I will have my way with him the minute I find out. Who did he think he was? Already a powerful man with Bank's and didn't find that enough?

"Shawn, chill." I heard Jess tell me.

I looked over at her and followed her eyes down to my hands. My hands were gripping the back of the chair. Fingers tight against it turning my white with red around. I let go and allowed the blood to return to my fingers.

"What do we do now?" I asked.

"Meet him and if anything seems odd about him leave, get a search warrant, and find her." He told me.

I nodded as I grabbed my jacket, badge, and gun. I hung up the phone and Jess stood up.

"What do I do?" She asked.

"Stay here, continue looking through the files. Anything suspicious you text me." I told her.

She nodded, "Okay...Shawn be careful and bring me back my best friend."

I nodded and walked out of the room, I seen Matt and he gave me a confused look. I nodded my head for him to follow and he jogged over.

"What's going on?" He asked.

"We're going to go visit the deadbeat." I told him.

We walked out of the police station and borrowed a undercover police car. I got in and started up the car as Matt got in. I then took off in the direction of his house which thanks to Jess texted me. It wasn't far from where we were which made the whole situation sketchy.

When we arrived, I parked the car and controlled my emotions. I couldn't let anything be noticeable just incase he knew anything. We got out and walked up the steps of this nice expensive looking building.

We walked up towards the door and knocked. It wasn't long until the door opened to reveal a older looking woman dressed in cleaning clothes.

"Hi, we're with the police, is Adam Davis Home?" I asked her.

She shook her head, "No he said he had meetings all morning then visiting friends later on tonight. What's this about?"

"There's a investigation going on and he could be involved." I told her trying not to give too much away.

She looked worried, "Well I feel like I should have a right to know if I'm his wife."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, "You're his wife?"

"Yes we've been married for the past five years." She said.

"Mam do you know why your husband was in Mexico a few weeks ago?" I asked her.

She had a confused expression, "Mexico? My husband hasn't left the country. He went to New York a few weeks ago."

"Mam your husband was in Mexico a few weeks ago. So if you don't know that he must've not told you. Is there anyway you can call us when he gets home?" Matt asked.

She nodded, "Yeah I'll uh...I'll give you a call when he gets here."

She looked hurt, i don't blame her she just found out her husband has been lying. He lied and told her he was going to New York when in reality he was in Mexico. Something wasn't right and this reassured that. She then closed the door as we made our way down the steps.

"You think it's him?" Matt asked as we went to the car.

I nodded, "Oh I know it's him, question is where is he?"

We got in the car and drove down the street. We parked the car so it was still in view of the house.

Now we wait.
