"This was never supposed to happen."

Maddox

"Hello? Maddox? I'm two minutes away." He said and I could hear the stress in his voice.

A tear slipped down my cheek, I quickly wiped it away. I didn't want to show this asshole that he had won.

"Shawn-", I then felt the pressure of the gun against my forehead, "Please hurry."

"I'm almost there love." Hearing him call me that hurt.

It was like someone had a hold of my heart and punctured it. The fact that he was so concerned, scared, stress, and he still called me love. Then I'm here practically bringing him to his death.

He then grabbed the phone from me and hung up. I looked at him all emotion drained from me not wanting to show him he was winning. I shouldn't have ever tried to escape, I shouldn't have called Shawn. If I didn't his life would not be in danger.

"Good girl. Maybe I shouldn't have given you up, you probably would've been put to good use." He told me as he grabbed me off the wall.

He held me up against him, my back to his chest and his arm around my neck. I held onto it forcing it back so I could breathe, with his other hand he held the gun to my head.

Just then we heard screeching of tires before they came to a stop. The engine cut off and we heard the door slam loud. I then felt his breath against my ear.

"Call for him." He told me.

I shook my head but he applied the pressure to my neck and the gun to the side of my head.

"Call for him!" He demanded.

"Shawn!" I yelled out after he released the pressure of his arm from my neck.

"Maddox!" I heard him yell.

Just then I seen him at the mouth of the alley. He was drenched in the rain and looked breathless. He ran down a little before he took in the situation, he then quickly reached for his gun.

"Ah! I wouldn't, if you do she dies." He warned him.

Shawn then lifted his hands, "Adam let her go. Hernandez is caught she is not needed anymore."

Adam chuckled, "Hernandez was the least of my worries. The least of the CIA's, he's the messenger. A nobody, the people he worked for made sure you all thought he was the one you needed. But he wasn't, he was simply a decoy."

"Then we can work this out, you can tell me who is and we can find them. Lock them up and you can be free, just let her go." Shawn told him as he slowly walked towards us with his hands still raised.

"Stop right there, toss your gun and don't move after." Adam told him.

Shawn was only a few feet away and I wanted nothing more than to get away and run into his arms. Shawn did as Adam asked and grabbed his gun and toss it over. It was only a few inches away from me.

He looked at me and our eyes met, my vision blurred. I missed him, and I didn't want for this to be happening. None of this was supposed to be happening.
