Tobias
To say I was nervous would be the biggest fucking lie I'd ever tell. Today was the day that I finally spoke with Lathaniel's parents. It has been a whole month since Lathan mentioned it and I've finally gathered my balls. So now we were going to his place for dinner.

"Don't be nervous Kitten, today is about how they are not how you are." He said as we reached the door. The house was really big and dark. The yard looked as if it'd seen the hottest fire of all in some places and so did the door.

The underworld was surprisingly not so bad, it was like being in a foreign country that happened to be really dark and it wasn't as red and hot as one might think.

"You ready?" Lathan asked and I nodded. I grabbed his hand tightly and he pulled me closer before knocking on the door. The door opened and we walked in. Upon walking in ambient music could be heard and the smell of roses was in the air.

The door closed behind us and we began to walk down the long wall. There were pictures all over the walls. Pictures of Lathan's parents and Lathan when he was younger and in his many other forms.

We got to a foyer and that's where his parents were. His mom smiled brightly at the both of us and his dad tried to do the same. "We're overjoyed that you could come, I've made us all supper. Please, to the dining room." She said kindly.

We all followed after her to the dining room and sat at the table. We sat across from each other in silence before Lathan's mother began to dish food for herself and her husband while Lathaniel dished some for me. "Do you want a lot?" I heard Lathan's voice in my head. "No." I replied.

"So Tobias, last time we met I didn't get to know you really. Tell me about yourself." Henna, Lathan's mother, said. "Well um, there's nothing much to tell, I'm the typical German guy." I answered nervously.

"Oh now there's no need to be modest. You must be something special if our son loves you." She responded with a very suggestive tone. "He is something special, he just doesn't know how." Lathan said and kissed my cheek making me blush.

"Oh I see it, he's just too cute." Henna cooed at me. Gregory, Lathan's dad, sat quietly and ate his food. I could see he wasn't a very big talker. "Tell me, Tobias, what do you do for a living?" Greg asked when we were done eating.

"Right now I'm looking into working as a psychologist at a clinic." I answered. "Clinical psychologist? You find your own kind that interesting?" He questioned. "W-well yea, I mean we're not the most simple beings especially on a mental level." I responded.

"I wonder if human psychology is anything like demon psychology, must be considering you two get along well." He continued. "You like demon psychology?" I asked him, surprised. "I have to in order to turn damned human souls into demons. But I do find it rather interesting, I think you would as well." He said.

"R-really?" I asked and he nodded. He snapped his fingers and a black book appeared in his hands. He handed it to me and I took it. The title, "The Mentally Damned".

"Its a very interesting book on demon psychology, I'm sure you'll find it to be most interesting." He said and for the first time tonight, he smiled. I smiled back and gave the book to Lathan so he could poof it home. "So are you two staying together?" Henna asked as she snapped her fingers, bringing desert to table and new clean dishes and utensils.

"We are." Lathan answered. "Oh, when's the wedding then?" She asked in surprise. "We-we're not engaged, we've only been together a month and a half." I blushed. "So then why do you stay together, isn't it against human culture?" Henna questioned.

"Well no, I'm not really religious and some humans aren't either." I answered. "Wow, humans really have changed over the years hey Greg." She said in a kind of awe. "They sure have." Gregory agreed.

We ate desert and chatted for another two hours or so before Lathan said we'd better get going. I was really relived that I actually had something in common with the devil...never thought I'd say that sentence.

"Tobias, we're sorry for giving you such a hard time. We see now just how happy Lathaniel is with you and how happy you are with him and if he loves you we can learn to." Gregory said sincerely. "Don't worry about it." I said with a smile.

We said our goodbyes and Lathan and I were on our way. Tonight wasn't bad and his parents were nice. I just hope mine will be as accepting.
