"Yeah... I know."
Remus' voice was different as he said that, even more gentle and soft. His golden eyes looked more like honey yellow in the dim light of candles that shone from the other end of the stairs.
Sirius looked at him. He was beautiful.
And Remus looked back, deep into Sirius' grey eyes that reminded him so deeply of the sea. That cold, silvery kind of blue. Remus had never been afraid of such waters, and right now part of him was drowning in those eyes. That part though, it didn't want to be saved. In that moment, as Srius was both nervous and relieved and at the same time breathtaken, and Remus didn't really know at all what he was doing but did it anyway because he had never ever in his life felt so right, something happened.
Something neither of them couldn't have expected. And Remus, still hands tightly around Sirius' cold, a little shaky body, leant down and pressed his soft, rosy lips against the shorter boy's cold, chapped and faded ones.
Sirius' heart missed about four beats at once, his stomach felt like it was going to explode with this feeling.
Great feeling. The best, actually.
And for a little moment, for just few seconds, the blood in the long haired boy's veins was no longer black. It was burning scarlet red.Their lips, for a short moment they moved together in perfect harmony.
Remus couldn't really bring himself to understand why, but it was most likely the best decision he ever made.
It was about the only one he made with his heart, not with his head.
And his heart, it thudded furiously against his chest for a passing moment, the blood in his veins was burning. It was good.
Then slowly his heart seemed to calm down, it slowed down to it's normal rhythm. Because maybe this was the new definition of normal. Or at least Remus wanted it to be.It was peaceful, beautiful moment.
And then Sirius took a quick step back driven by the sudden realisation of what in the world just happened.
He took that one step,
and he fell down the entire flight of stairs that lead down to Gryffindor common room.
