...

Rose sat at her vanity as she finished getting ready for school. To anyone that saw her, it was obvious that she was not thrilled to be starting school again. To her it felt like a waste of time.

She brushed though her hair with her fingers as she looked at the pictures taped to her mirror. One particular one caught her eye: it was her and Isaac fighting. Stiles was messing around that day and wanted to get a nice picture of the two. But when you put fire and fire together, the only thing that you're going to get is more fire. Though Isaac and Rose constantly argued, they both had a soft spot for each other. They were so different in many ways, that it only caused arguments most of the time. But then again, opposites attract.

Rose reached up for the picture and ripped it off.

Much better, she thought to herself as she looked at her vanity again this time without the reminder of Isaac

Much better, she thought to herself as she looked at her vanity again this time without the reminder of Isaac.

Rose heard a knock at her door and twisted in her chair to look at Derek who was walking in her room.

"You ready?"

"Do I have to?" She whined letting her head fall back.

Derek chuckled softly at his teenage sister, who was at the moment acting like a child.

"Yes."

Rose frowned and got up from her chair and grabbed her bag from the floor.

Derek watched her carefully. She was starting to resemble her mother more and more each day. She was becoming so strong, and he couldn't have been more proud. He looked down at the locket of Talia's that Rose always has around her neck and then back up at Rose.

"You are becoming more like mom each day," Derek told her placing his hand on her shoulder.

Rose smiled softly, knowing that he was tugging on a very sensitive heart string.

"She would be so proud," Derek paused and then nodded, "I'm so proud of you."

"Thanks Der," Rose smiled and hugged her brother tightly.

Derek then looked down at her trash can and noticed the picture of Isaac and her in it. Derek frowned while reaching down and picking it out.

Rose watched him carefully.

"You miss him, don't you?" Derek asked.

Rose paused, and then scoffed, not letting her hard exterior crack.

"No." She answered and crossed her arms against her chest.

Derek raised an eyebrow at the stubborn and lying girl. Derek could read Rose like no one else could.

"Why would I miss him? You really think that I would miss someone as annoying as Isaac?" Rose inquired, "No way."

"Really?"
