...
Rose slammed the door of the loft, just as Peter pulled out his claws of Derek's neck.
"What the hell is going on?" She exclaimed.
Peter, as he collected his breath and stumbled back a bit, turned to face Rose, "Your dear brother wanted to have a chat with mommy."
"You saw mom?" Rose inquired looking over at Derek with wide eyes. "Without me?"
"You were at school," Derek argued.
"You could've waited."
Derek knew that Rose was going to be upset about this. Her eyes were practically burning holes through him as she continued to glare at him.
"Sorry Rosie," Peter smirked sarcastically.
Rose whipped her head to her uncle, still completely unamused.
"Hm," Rose scoffed before walked toward the staircase.
"She spoke about you." Derek sighed as he sat in the chair with his head bowed.
Rose halted, stopping dead in her tracks before turning to look at her brother. Her facial expression softened, turning into one of confusion. Even Peter seemed intrigued as he looked over at his brother.
Rose gulped before turning around slowly and asking, "What did she say?"
Derek looked up at his sister, nervous to reveal what Talia had told him. He rubbed his knees with his hands before letting out a sigh and standing up.
"She said you're in danger." He spoke carefully causing Rose's body to stiffen completely.
"What kind of danger?"
"It wasn't specific." Derek shook his head, "Just that you're in danger."
"Well what the hell does that mean?" Rose exclaimed all her anger from the day finally boiling up. She then began shouting, taking both her brother and uncle by surprise, "What's with this town? I mean really, no one is ever safe! I wish I could just leave."
Derek was about to speak up, but Rose continued.
"Oh that's right, I can't." Rose yelled. "Because mom left me this stupid job to protect this stupid town. Well who's going to protect me? Hell, I don't even have pack."
Derek stared at her with sympathetic eyes, not sure what to tell her besides, "I'll protect you."
Rose soon felt a heavy pressure push against her chest and she knew that in seconds she would begin crying. She shook head slowly at Derek before rushing up the staircase and slamming her bedroom door shut.
Peter looked over at a shocked Derek, while Peter was seemingly not shocked by Rose's sudden outbreak.
"What's up with her?" Peter asked.
"She knows that she's weak." Derek sighed. "She needs a pack, that's more than just me."
"Well what's she going to do?"
"I don't know, but if she's in danger like mom said...she's going to need to find a few other wolves to be in her pack."
Meanwhile, Rose rested against the door of her bedroom as her breaths got heavier. She didn't let out any cries, but did allow the tears to fall down her cheeks. Everything that had happened today had slowly been breaking her, until this final moment where she finally cracked down.
She couldn't stand the fact that Isaac and her were fighting, but she knew that they were both too stubborn and prideful to do or say anything. And now she had this idea of her life being in danger spinning around in her mind.
Her breath got stuck in her throat when she finally opened her eyes and looked in front of her. She could've swore she saw yellow or green lights floating within the air.
She blinked a few times and a figure in front of her became more clear. Everything else around her seemed to fade out as she froze at the sight in front of her. Beyond the lights, she was almost positive she saw a face, but in the definite darkness she was unable to make out the features.
The lights were almost hypnotizing as she began to walk closer to the figure. It was like they were uncovering all of her secrets that she had built walls keeping up.
Then the figure suddenly gripped her neck and pain immediately swelled up in her body, causing her limbs to go weak. Her body rapidly became cold to the point where she was shivering.
She seemed to enter the emptiness of her own subconscious. It was so silent. It was so quiet it was enough to make even the most stable person to go insane.
...
Isaac let out a long breathe looking down at the flowers in his hand and shaking off any nerves he may have. He wasn't sure how Rose was going to react seeing him at her door after he had been rude to her all day. He then rose his fist to knock at Derek's door, knowing he had to do this.
Isaac was well aware of how stubborn Rose was, so if they were fighting Isaac knew that he had to end up being the bigger person and say something. Isaac had come to understanding that he was out of hand being mad at Rose. He let his jealousy of Aiden get in the way, even though Rose had told him many times he has nothing to be jealous of. Isaac just couldn't help it, especially when Rose would defend them.
Peter opened the door, which surprised Isaac.
"Peter," he greeted.
"Hello Isaac." Peter grinned looking the boy up and down. "So I take it you and Rose are fighting?"
"Why would you say something like that?" Isaac asked.
Peter furrowed his eyebrows at the boy, "You have twelve roses in your hand."
Isaac's mouth formed an o shape and realized how stupid he must've looked.
Isaac then nodded his head, "Yeah but it's just...it's a small fight."
Peter nodded slowly and then remarked, "Roses for Rose...very clever."
Isaac smiled quickly trying to ignore the unwanted tension that was building up, before walking past Peter and up the stairs toward Rose's room.
To Isaac, there was something off within the air. Something felt cold and sinister as he got closer to Rose's room.
He then knocked on Rose's closed door, and waited nervously for her to open it. He was able to hear her heart beat so he knew that she had to be in there.
"Rose, hey it's me." Isaac said leaning against the door, "Can we talk?"
There was no response, which worried Isaac. Maybe she was more mad than he had thought.
"Rose, please," Isaac begged.
Still nothing.
Isaac took a deep breath before opening the door completely. He gasped at the sight before him.
Rose's almost lifeless body shivering as she lay on the floor.
"Rose," he exclaimed before rushing to her side and holding her cold body tightly in his arms.
Rose let out a cold breath and slowly began to regain consciousness. She turned her head slowly to look up at the person holding onto her like their life depended on it.
"Isaac?" Her voice shook.
"I'm here. I'm here...what happened?" He asked.
Her arms slowly wrapped around his warm body and she shook her head, fearful for what she had experienced.
"This monster was in my room and I don't know...I just saw it and soon after I fainted." She tried to explain, not remembering very clearly herself.
"It's okay. You're safe now." Isaac reassured her kissing her forehead.
But something in the pit of Rose's stomach was telling her she wasn't.
