...
"We know about the lunar eclipse, so don't think Kali's gonna sit around waiting for it to level the playing field." Ethan told Derek, Peter, Lydia, Cora and Rose. "She's coming, and my brother's coming with her."
"Good enough for me," Peter nodded realizing how detrimental this situation was becoming as all their lives were going to be at risk. "Derek?"
"You want me to run?" Derek questioned narrowing his eyes at Peter.
"No. We want you to stay and get slaughtered by an Alpha with a psychotic foot fetish." Rose rolled her eyes as she spoke sarcastically to her brother. "Of course I want you to run."
"Sprint, gallop, leap your way the hell out of this town." Peter added, sounding incredibly ridiculous in Rose's opinion. "Do whatever you need to do, but get out of here, Derek."
"If you want to fight and die for something, that's fine with me, but do it for something meaningful." Cora told him.
"How do you know I'm gonna lose?" Derek questioned, almost feeling offended.
"We don't, but I'll bet she has an idea." Peter looked over at Lydia, "Don't you Lydia?"
"I don't know anything." Lydia shook her head.
"But you feel something, don't you?"
Rose looked nervously over at her best friend, knowing very well that whatever Lydia was feeling wasn't very good and correlated to whatever is going to happen to Derek. She could tell just by the look on Lydia's face.
"What do you feel?" Derek asked her.
"I feel like I'm standing in a graveyard."
...
The alarm began blaring throughout the loft, signaling to everyone there that Kali and Aiden have arrived. Kali immediately hit the alarm with her fist, causing the obnoxious noise to cease.
"Where is he?" Kali demanded looking between Rose and Lydia who were standing there bravely.
Lydia snapped her fingers and looked over at Rose, "I think he said he was heading out to do some shopping, run a few errands, the usual-" Lydia paused to clear her throat, "-werewolf afternoon."
"Who do you think you're talking to?" Kali sneered, narrowing her eyes down at the red headed girl.
"Someone in desperate need of a pedicure." Lydia commented, "I'd be happy to give you a referral."
Rose looked over at Lydia, stunned by what she had just said. Lydia was definitely saying some bold things to a werewolf who could easily tear her apart in a second.
"Oh, really?" Kali raised her eyebrows and then looked over at Aiden and growled, "Did someone take their little assignment too seriously?"
Aiden sighed, "She is not the problem."
"Maybe the problem is where your loyalties lie."
"Oh god." Lydia whispered looking over to Rose and Ethan, "Is this about to get really violent?" Lydia asked Ethan and Rose.
Ethan and Rose both nodded while answering at the same time, "Probably."
Suddenly the roof of the glass ceiling shattered, and pieces fell to the floor. Rose rushed to Lydia and together they dove across the room to prevent themselves from getting hurt.
The person that had made such a dramatic entrance into the room, lifted their head revealing their true identity.
"So, who wants to go first?" Jennifer asked smugly as she stood from her crotched position.
