...

"Do you think you're ready to go back to school tomorrow?"

Rose still focusing on the opening of the preserve overlook at the town of Beacon Hills below them, shook her head.

"I'm not sure I'll ever be ready...nothing is going to be the same." Rose told Scott. "But I can't keep avoiding it, and anyone else for that matter."

"Have you talked to Stiles yet?" Scott asked.

"No...not yet."

Rose didn't feel any anger towards Stiles, but instead the monster that took place of his body. She wasn't sure she would able to look at him the same. And she wasn't sure if she was ready to face him just yet.

"You know he feels bad about everything, right?"

"I don't doubt that." Rose said to Scott, not wanting him to believe that she didn't think Stiles felt bad. She couldn't even imagine the pain and guilt that Stiles felt. Two people lost their lives because of this monster. "I just...what if I can't look at him the same?"

"It'll take time, Rosie. But you will." Scott said. "I'm still having trouble looking him in the eye without thinking of-"

Scott cut himself off. He didn't even want to say her name. Rose knew where he was coming from though. Rose and Scott were, in a way, in the same situation. And they were both understanding and empathic of each other.

"Sorry," Scott said, awkwardly shifting his seating position.

"Don't be."

Rose felt almost guilty. Here she was, heartbroken over the fact that Isaac had left town. Meanwhile Scott, lost the love of his life. He will never see her again, while Rose had the chance to see Isaac again in her lifetime.

"But I'm here for you, Scott."

Scott blinking away some of the tears that had filled his eyes said to Rose, "You were always the stronger one of the two of us."

Rose looked away from Scott and frowned.

She then confessed, "I don't want to be the strong one anymore

She then confessed, "I don't want to be the strong one anymore."

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said it like that. You don't have to be the strong one." Scott shook his head.

"It's just...I feel like I have this role to be strong." Rose continued to explain, looking over the overlook at the edge of the preserve. "I'm an alpha, I'm the protector of Beacon Hills. I have to be strong."

"Yeah," Scott half heartedly agreed, "But no one said that you had to do it alone."

Rose looked over at Scott with furrowed eyebrows. Scott gave her a warm smile and placed his hand on top of Rose's.

"You and I, Rose...we're in this together. We always have been, since the beginning." Scott told her. "And I'm not giving up on us now."

...

After everything that had happened, it had affected everyone in different ways. They all knew it would take them a while to get back to normal, but they had each other to lean on. And that's what Rose realized, they'll always have each other no matter what happens.

Rose walked into school like she did everyday and noticed everyone buzzing around her, everyone was living their normal day by day life, however Rose was still trying to get back on track. She thought going to school would make things feel more normal to her, but as she looked around she realized that Allison and Aiden would be two people that she would never see again in these halls.

"Rosie," she heard her name being called by Lydia.

"Hi Lydia," Rose sighed turning around, and seeing Lydia opening her arms for a hug.

"How are you?"

"I'm...getting there, and you?" Rose asked.

She smiled, "Just happy to see you."

More than anything right now, Lydia and Rose needed each other. After dealing with so much pain, the girls needed their friendship to be stronger than ever. The tragedies that each faced were only going to bring them closer.

Rose looked over toward Kira who gave her a soft smile, "Hi Rose."

Rose smiled, "Hey Kira."

"You ever run track? I mean, you have excellent muscle definition." The girls heard Coach from down the hall.

"I sometimes ran from cougars trying to eat me." A voice answered and they all turned their heads to see Malia walking toward them with Coach.

"I've had the same problem." Coach nodded while he and Malia walk by.

Rose locked eyes with Malia, she gave Rose a soft smile and a wink in which Rose smiled returned before she followed closely behind Coach.

"So, listen, we're gonna start off slow. You know, a few classes here and there. Don't worry. You'll learn fast."

"I intend to."

"Do you guys know her?" Kira asked when she had cleared the hallway.

"Kind of," Rose shrugged.

"Her name is Malia." Lydia stated.

"Is she in the pack?" Kira asked.

"Well now that her and Stiles are dating, I'm going to say yes." Lydia smirked, raising her eyebrow.

"Hold on," Rose interrupted blinking a few times and looking at Lydia with complete shock. "Stiles is dating Malia? How did he get her?"

Lydia shrugged, "Beats me."

The bell then rang, the sound echoing through the hallways. The girls all gave each other a wave goodbye, before heading their separate ways to class.

Though Rose felt like something was missing all day long, and she knew that something would be missing for the rest of her life, the people that she still had around her would keep her full.

...

Rose came home from school that day to see the loft completely wrecked. Slowly she stepped in and looked around cautiously.

"Derek?" She shouted, looking around the distraught loft.

The place was torn apart to say the least. Rose thought to herself, what could have possibly made Derek so mad that he completely destroyed the place. But what had happened was more serious than what Rose could even begin to comprehend.

"Well I'm not cleaning this up!" Rose shouted.

She then stepped on something that caused her to stumble back a bit. She looked curiously at the bullets on the ground. She picked up the bullet carefully, while she examined it closely.

Her eyes widened as she let out a sharp gasp, dropping the bullet.

There was only one other family that had a mark as distinguishable as the Argents, and that was the Calaveras.

Rapidly, Rose reached for her phone dialing Scott's number.

"Rose, what's up?"

"Scott, Lydia is able to tell whether someone is dead or alive, right?"

"Yeah, why?"

Rose gulped still looking closely at the bullet.

"Rose, what happened?"

"Call Lydia."
