I woke the next night and went downstairs. The phone rang and I waved at the servant, "I'll get it." I went to Grandpa's desk and picked up the receiver, "Hello?"

"It's good to hear your voice," she sighed.

"Anna," I sighed, "Oh how I've missed you. Shouldn't you be in bed?" I looked at my watch.

"Getting ready to," she sighed, "We've been searching for Michael and haven't found him."

"Anna," I said urgently, "Be careful. There are Vampire Hunters out there."

"Have you encountered any there, in California?" she asked, suddenly awake and alert.

"Allan and I ....," I started.

"He was told to watch you!" she snapped, "Put him on the phone!"

"I'm alright," I laughed.

"Marcus, I'm so worried about you," she groaned.

"I want to be there, with you," I sat down at the desk.

"The people that want you dead are here," she said.

"People that want me dead are here too," I sighed.

"I'm putting you on speaker," she said and I heard a click.

I saw Allan walking towards me, "You are too."

"Anna?" he smiled and sat on the corner of the desk as I nodded.

"I want you boys here," she told us sternly.

"Anna!" Nigel gasped.

"I am the Queen of the Second House," she snapped.

"Yes, your Highness," he sighed.

"I want them here. We need to be together. This being spread out is a bad idea. If he were here, I could protect him," she told Nigel.

"Thanks Sis," Allan laughed and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Of course I meant you too," she said adoringly and asked softly, "How are you doing?"

"Fully recovered," he winked at me, "Do we leave tonight?"

"I'll make the arrangements," Nigel said.

"I'll see you soon, my love," she purred.

"Love you too, Pumpkin," Allan gushed.

"Oh shut up!" she laughed.

"Yep," Shawn laughed, "Same old Allen. He's alright."

"See you soon boys," Nigel laughed in his deep timber.

The next night, my coffin lid was opened and I heard a soft gasp. "Dinna I tell ya?" a familiar voice whispered, "A true descendant of a Feidlimid," he sighed.

I looked up at King Connery, "Who's Faylamen?" I stood up and he helped me step out.

"Feidlimid," he laughed and slapped me on the shoulder, "Tis a glorious family in Ireland folklore that are vera handsome."

I looked around, "Are we in Ireland?" I smiled at the adoring woman.

"Me own house," she nodded and looked up at me with wide eyes. She put her hand on her chest, "An a think your much more beautiful than an heir of Feidlimid."

"Well, thank you," I touched her arm and she slowly put her arms around my middle, to hug me. I laughed and let her lay her head on my right breast.

"Kathleen!" the King scolded and I shook my head at him, letting her hold me.

"Not to be rude, my Lord," Allan walked over to us, "but why are we in a basement, in Ireland?"  he took the King's hand and kissed the back.

"Never rude to wanna know your situation," he patted Allan's back. He looked at me, "Your Grand Daidi wanted ya to come into England in secrecy," he looked at Allan, "You will travel by boat to England from here."

"How long will THAT take?" Allan wailed.

"Two hours," the King laughed, then looked at me seriously, "Be careful, Youngling. There are dangerous men out there."

"We will," I winked, kissing the girl on the forehead, "Can I be released now?"

"You're better now?" she smiled up at me and put her hands on her hips.

"I must be," I laughed.

We rode a ferry, Allan anxiously humming in the backseat. "How much further, Paul?" I asked the driver as he started the car.

"I'll have ya there in a minute!" he smiled at me proudly.

He drove us quickly through the deserted streets of town.
Up and down, down and up. He seemed to be driving on every avenue.

"Aren't we going to Worthington Manor?" I asked after a twenty minute drive.

He nodded, "We have to make sure we aren't followed," he looked in the rear view mirror.

"Worthington Manor," Allan ordered, "Now!"

Within minutes, he drove up a mountain road and sped his way up to the Manor. We got out of the car and looked up at the Manor. The front door opened and Anna ran towards me. I took two steps and caught her up in my arms. I kissed her hard and hugged her. "Oh, you feel so good," I moaned.

She put her nose on my shirt and sniffed. Anna frowned, "Who is she?"

"Ah, just a fan," Allan said and shoved me away, "Let me have one of those."

"Oh!" she gasped and hugged him tight. I saw a tear fall down her cheek and Allan picked her up off her feet. She put her hands on each side of his head and put her lips to his ear, "I thought we lost you," she cried, kissing his cheek three times.

"Can't get rid of me," he laughed and stood her on her feet. He wiped his cheek and took a shakey breath, "Come on now. None of that. You'll get me started." He swallowed hard and turned to Nigel and held his arms out, "You too, Dad?" he laughed and hugged him tight.

The family was hugging, laughing and crying, all at the same time. I was so happy for everyone that I felt as if my beating heart was going to burst.

I HEARD IT.

I looked into the trees and listened. I looked from one bow to the other. I couldn't hear it any more. Only the rustling of the tree limbs. I was hearing things. I looked at Anna as she laid onto Allan's chest, much the way my fan had done.

THERE IT WAS AGAIN.

Everyone was laughing and talking. I took a couple of steps from them and looked into the trees again. I tilted my head to one side; then the other.

"Marcus?" Anna whispered, touching my chest and I gasped as if she had hit me. "What is it?" she urged and put her hand on my arm.

"Did you hear something?" I whispered. She listened and shook her head.

"What's with you?" Shawn asked irritably.

"Back off, Shawn," Allan said firmly. Then asked me gently, "What do you hear, Kid?"

I HEARD IT AGAIN.

"There!" I gasped and looked at each family member. Each one returned bewildered looks. I looked out and around. "I heard some.....thing.....some.....one," I sighed. Shawn moaned. I knew he was pissed at me and now I was pissed at me too. I turned to them, "No one hears that?"

"You can still hear it?" Nigel walked up to me.

I looked at him, "I can almost feel it."

IT CALLED TO ME.

My head jerked in the direction it came from. An overpowering need to follow it washed through my veins and flooded my senses. I took a step away and Nigel caught my arm, "Where are you going?"

All I could do was whisper, "Dad."
