I bit my wrist and put it to her lips. Her mouth opened and I said, "Drink Amanda or you'll die." I held her close to me and held my wrist out for her. Just when I thought she would die, I felt her bite me. She sucked slowly, then took hold of my hand and arm and sucked hard. "Amanda, you have to stop now," I whispered and she sat on the dirt floor, taking from me. I shoved her away and scooted back from her. "What the hell?" I growled at her and held my wrist to my chest. I pointed at her angrily, "When I tell you to stop, you have to stop!"

"I'm sorry," she smiled and covered her mouth with her hand. She shrugged, "It was good."

"You nearly drained me," I pushed up to my feet. I took her hand and pulled her up to stand. "We need to feed," I told her irritably.

She put her hands on her hips and frowned, "Are you going to be an asshole now?" she stomped her foot, her chain rattling, "I'm the one that should be pissed. I'm dead!"

"Not exactly," I rolled my eyes and tried to take a step away from her.

When I swayed, she caught me in her arms and held me on my feet, "What's the matter with you?"

I put my hand over my eyes, "Damn this weakness. I need more blood," I looked at her.

Amanda raised her eyebrows, "I'm all tapped out Buddy!" she laughed.

"Where the hell are we?" I urged, "Do you have a car?"

"Can you hold on?" she winced and when I frowned at her, she explained quickly, "You know all I have is the bike."

"That's right," I stumbled and she grunted, but kept me on my feet. "Get me out of here," I growled and she nodded.

"Well," she gestured at her feet and rattled the chain. I reached down and pulled the chain loose. We stumbled up the stairs and she pulled me towards the cabin. "Bike's up front," she panted.

"Where's Dad at?" I looked over our shoulders. We weren't far from the mansion. We were at her cabin!

"Gone," she sighed and I stopped in my tracks. I could only stare at her. "I'm sorry," she winced and let me go.

I staggered a step back from her, "What do you mean?"

"He died," she said gently and I gasped. "Your Grandpa and him got into a big argument about you."

"Grandfather killed him?" I whispered.

She shook her head, "No. The argument was over the phone. Your Father was at my cabin then. You were in my cellar at the time, resting, he said.  I was against the idea and was going to tell Nigel. He was furious and that's when he chained me to your coffin. We stayed here a while and your Dad just kind of got old. He got real sick and weak, so he went outside and I guess he died."

"Amanda," I closed my eyes and my head spun, "Vampires don't die."

"He must have. He never came back," she shrugged and stepped around me.

I stumbled after her, "Where is his body?" I asked.

"I dunno," she threw her hands up.

I took her roughly by the arms and gave her a shake, "Where the hell is my Dad?"

"I guess he went to the mansion and your family has him!" she said and pushed me away.

"Take me home," I sighed.

"Up to the mansion? Okay, come on," she waved her arm and I followed her to her bike.

"Can't we walk?" I moaned, "I'm to weak to hold on."

"I'll take you inside," she pointed to the cabin, "and I'll go get help."

"No," I sighed and held my chest as I coughed. Did I trust her? No. Not anybody, ever again.

"Your Dad had that cough...." she said and took me into her arms, "....just before he died. I've got to get you home, Marcus," she said urgently, "Come on," she pulled me towards the bike. "You're family will know what to do."

Amanda sat on the bike and I got on the back. She started the bike and pulled my arms around her, "Hold on as best as you can," she instructed and drove off. I nearly fell off when she made her first turn and she screamed, "Marcus!"

I woke up and held her hips tight. "Hurry," I moaned and the bike moved faster.

She stopped at the gate and looked over her shoulder at me, "Now what?" I glared at the gate and it shook, then slammed open. I sighed heavily, laying my head on her shoulder. She laughed, putting the bike in gear, "I wanna learn that."

She sped up the driveway and stopped abruptly, causing me to fall off the back. My body felt like lead. I could only lay on my back, spread eagle and moan at the black sky.

"Marcus?" she fell at my side and shook my shoulders. "Marcus baby," she shook me again.

"Amanda?" Allan called from the front porch, "You got some drunk with you?" he laughed.

She looked back at him, "Come help me! It's Marcus!"

"Marcus!" Anna gasped.

"No!" Nigel said firmly.

I heard running feet and felt two people fall next to me. "Oh God!" Allan gasped, then called back, "It IS Marcus!"

"Can you stand?" Shawn said close to my face and pulled up on my arm. I could only groan.

"He needs blood," Amanda said, "Well that's what he said."

"You look like hell, Kid," Allan laughed near my face and patted my cheek with his hand, "Come on. Stay awake."

"Let me go to him!" Anna cried.

"No!" Shawn said in a scolding tone and sat me up roughly.

"Come on Kid," Allan held up my right side.

"Walk!" Shawn barked in my ear as he held up my left side.

They almost walked but nearly dragged me, to the porch. "Get her back, Dad," Shawn instructed, "He's almost bit me twice."

Did I do that?

Something touched my face and I opened my mouth.

"Shit!" Allan gasped and shoved my forehead back.

"I did do that," I laughed to myself.

"Little bastard," Allan laughed and gave me a tug. I felt my body fall forward and my chest landed on something hard.

"Put him down!" Anna gasped, "You shouldn't carry him that way! It's humiliating."

"He's not bitting me!" Allan said, "The last time he took from me, it hurt like hell."

"Take him to his room," Nigel ordered. He said softly, "He's fine Anna."

"But..." she whimpered.

Allan carried me over his shoulder, up to my room and dropped me in my bed.

I moaned and sighed heavily as sleep took me.
