Dad made other frantic calls as we drove up and down streets. I occasionally looked behind us and nobody was following us. "Dad," I started.
"Okay," he held up his hand to silence me, "I have a flight for us. We can leave tonight. We'll leave," he smiled at me.
"Um okay," I smiled back, "If Grandpa thinks it's the right thing to do." I frowned, "What about Anna?"
"She's fine," he waved his hand and put it on his chest, "She agrees with me. She thinks we should hide." He nodded, "I'll get you home."
"Okay Dad," I shrugged.
Dad drove us to the loading docks and rushed me onto a boat. I was carefully packed inside a coffin and he kissed me before he slammed the lid.

When I woke, I could not move. I had been packed tightly in the coffin and it was dark. "LET ME OUT OF HERE!" I screamed and jerked on the satin that was wrapped around me. I struggled, trying to pull my arms free. I tried moving my legs and my whole body shook. "OUT!" I screamed and pulled on the satin.
I held my breath and listened. There was no sound. "Hello?" I called softly. "Hello!" I said firmer. "LET ME OUT!" I screamed.
I struggled against the satin that was wrapped around me and screamed for help.
Someone pounded on the coffin and I stopped. "You have to be quiet!" she said and her voice was a muffle.
"Who's there?" I spoke loud.
"Amanda," she said.
"Amanda," I sighed with relief. "Amanda, get me out!" I ordered.
"I'm sorry. I can't," she said.
"Why?" I snapped.
"There's a lock. I don't have a key!" she wailed.
"Get my father!" I ordered.
"He's the one that put it on!" she wailed and I heard a muffling sound.
"Amanda?" I called.
"I'm sorry," she sobbed, "Your Father is crazy!" She pounded on the coffin, "Are you still there?"
I swallowed down my fear, "Yes," I snapped.
"You have to get out yourself," she said as she cried, "But you have to quit screaming. If he hears you...."
"Amanda!" I yelled.
"Don't yell! He'll know you're awake. He expects you to hibernate here until it's safe," she said.
"I can't do that!" I growled and jerked on the satin.
"I'll help you," she said and everything got quiet.
"Amanda? Amanda, what are you doing?" I asked quickly. "Aman...." I stopped and gasped. "What did you....?" I whispered. I could smell the metallic smell of blood.
"I know you're hungry," she laughed through a sob, "Come and get the blood, Baby."
"Amanda," I warned.
"You have to be quiet or he'll come down here," she said and I heard her feet run away from my coffin.
"Amanda," I grunted against the satin. "Get me...." I stopped and smelled the rich smell. The thing that my body cried out for was just on the other side of the coffin lid.
**************************
The satin held me prisoner. I could barely move in the coffin and when my body ached, the sleep took me. But then I would wake with a jerk and fight to get free again.
