Bobby fell into the booth's seat across from me and sighed heavily, "Hey."

"How's the search?" I frowned and raised a finger to the waitress.

Bobby turned up a coffee cup and the waitress slopped coffee in his cup as she sat down a menu. When she walked away, Bobby said, "I got close a couple of times but the leads I had dried up," he shook his head, "I don't think she's here. I can't find her."

"Ella HAS to be here," I sighed, "You just haven't found her yet."

"How do you know?" he shrugged and sipped his coffee slowly.

I looked out the window and said, "I can feel her. She's here. We just haven't found her."

"Could she be hibernating?" he asked and I looked at him. He shrugged one shoulder, "You said vampires can hibernate, maybe she's laying in wait."

"Waiting for what?" I whispered and he shrugged again. I sighed heavily.

"Look," he clunked his cup down, "this ain't easy. I have one more lead to check up on. Maybe you could go out with me tonight?"

"Nigel says that's to dangerous," I shook my head.

"He says you should stay out of the sun too," he laughed and gestured to the window next to us. He laid his chin in his hand, "You don't listen to THAT. Why start now?"

I touched my sunglasses and smiled, "That's true."

"So come out with me," he urged. "I have to meet a guy tonight and it's in a bad part of town, so I kinda don't want to go."

"And you thought I could go and protect you?" I smiled.

Bobby picked up his cup and brought it to his lips, "I know you can fight pretty good," he took another sip.

"Kicked YOUR ass," I nodded.

"A couple of times," he laughed and sat his cup down.

"Alright, but we won't tell Granddad," I pointed at him and he gave me a thumbs up.

"Dis isa bad idea," the Count mumbled under his breath.

"Well, that's why you're here, Stephen," I laughed.

"If your Grandfadder knew..." he shook his head and looked around us.

I looked down the dark alley and up the street that was just as dark. "He doesn't need to know everything," I shrugged.

Bobby walked up to us, "Okay. The guy said to meet him here at midnight," he looked at his watch and up at the yellow billboard on the side of the building.

Stephen sighed, "He is late."

"Yeah," Bobby winced and looked at me, "What do you wanna do?"

"Let's give him five more minutes," I sighed and looked around us again. I could feel somebody watching us from the darkness. "He's here," I shook my head, "but I can't tell where." I looked around at the apartment buildings, "There's to many people here."

"He's here?" Bobby pointed to the pavement and I nodded. Bobby looked around and pointed his nose down the street, "Here he comes."

Stephen fell back into the darkness of the alley as the man approached. He stopped a couple of feet from Bobby and Bobby stepped forward and shook his hand. The man pumped Bobby's hand, "I don't like this, man," he said nervously.

"I know. Thanks for meeting us," he pointed to me, "This is my boss, tell him what you told me."

He nodded and took a breath, "The people I work for, they have a warehouse and we are guarding this one box. Ain't nothin' in the whole damn warehouse, but this one box," he looked around.

"Box?" I frowned and the man looked at me fearfully. "It's alright," I smiled, "Tell us about this one box."

"They just make us watch it," he shrugged, "Whatever is in it, they want it protected. One of the guys that worked there, he talked about trying to open it one time and he disappeared," his eyes widened.

"So what's in there is important," I nodded.

"And nobody knows what's in it?" Bobby asked him and the man shook his head. Bobby looked at me, "Think it's what you're looking for?"

"Could be," I said softly.

"Thanks man," Bobby smiled at him and gave him a packet of white powder.

"Thanks," he took it quickly and shoved it in his pocket, "Remember, you didn't hear it from me."

"Sure," Bobby nodded and the man ran off.

"You know where this warehouse is?" I looked at Bobby and he nodded.

"We should tell your Grandfadder," Stephen said as he came out of the darkness.

I shook my head, "He would just stop me."

"Maybe he should," Stephen shrugged and I glared at him. He held his hands up, "Only a suggestion."

"Let's go," I told Bobby.

"Tonight?" Stephen took my elbow, "You wheel hunt her tonight?"

"Yeah," Bobby nodded, "Why not?"

"Death," Stephen gasped, "She wheel keel you."

"She's hibernating, Stephen," I laughed, "She'll be weak."

"Maybe," he released my arm, "Could be only place for coffin to lie during the day."

"Let's go," I shook my head and walked down the street, towards the car.

"Dis is bad idea," Stephen moaned as he followed us.

I looked at Bobby and smiled, "He DOES have a point."

Bobby shrugged, "It's not like you don't have another option." He pointed to me, "Still got those sunglasses?" he smiled broadly.

"What?" Stephan moaned, "Oh, I dun like dis."
