The sun shined on my skin warmly, but I took no comfort from it this time. "Here we are again," I sighed heavily, "Another stupid warehouse."
"There was another warehouse?" Bobby asked from the passenger side of the car.
"There's always a warehouse," I mumbled under my breath, "Maybe you were right. We should have told the King."
"Kinda to late to tell me now," Bobby laughed and got out of the car. We both stared at the small warehouse. "Not a very big place," Bobby said as if he were speaking to himself.
"No," I said hopefully.
"I'll check around back. Let's see if I can surprise them," Bobby said as he clicked the hammer back on his gun.
"Avoid killing anyone, if you can," I called after him and he nodded, putting his gun back in its holster.
I ran up to the front of the building and kicked the door open. Shots were fired around me and I ducked behind a crate. I returned fire and men fell behind crates for cover. Bobby snuck up behind them and shouted, "Everyone put down your guns!" The four men raised their hands and dropped their guns to the floor. "Up against the wall!" he ordered and held his gun on them.
"Are there more guards?" I asked one man.
"I ain't tellin' you nothin'!" he snarled.
"We could just kill you now," Bobby said and pointed his gun at the man's head.
"Don't kill us!" one man begged, "We just started this job."
"You're new?" I frowned.
He nodded, "The Boss said he wanted to double security. He said he expected trouble."
"Looks like he was right," Bobby laughed.
I looked at Bobby, "That means they knew we were coming. Your informant snitched."
"I'll kill him," he said angrily through his clenched teeth.
"He's probably already dead," I said and put away my gun. I slowly walked over to the crate that was in the middle of the room.
"Be careful of that thing," Bobby warned, softly and I nodded at him. "Don't open it. Let's just grab the crate and get the hell outta here," Bobby suggested nervously.
"I don't think the King would want this kinda thing at home," I smiled and jerked the lid off of the crate. I starred down at the coffin.
"Is it her?" Bobby whispered. I slowly opened the lid and Bobby pointed his gun at the men. When the lid bounced back, he gasped as if he had been hit in the stomach. Bobby holstered his gun and fell to his knees, "Elaine!" he sobbed and reached for her.
She looked up at him and gasped, "Bobby!" she sat up and hugged him tight.
"Oh Elaine, we're getting you outta here," he reached under her and picked her up in his arms.
"We're not taking HER to Granddad," I said angrily, "She can't be trusted," he looked at me with wide eyes, "She tried to kill Stephen AND she helped Ella kidnap me!"
Bobby put her on her feet and glared hatefully at me as if he was, once again, my enemy. "I ain't leavin' her here," he said sharply.
"Bobby," I started.
"I didn't want to," she cried, then looked up at me pathetically, "Please believe me. I never meant to hurt anybody. Ella gave me no choice."
"Well, well, well," a man's voice laughed from the rafters.
"Son of a....," I looked above us and held my gun up.
The thin, white haired vampire dropped down from the rafters and landed a few yards from us. He smiled at me, "I never thought YOU would come to US."
"Nikita," I straightened my spine to my full height.
"You've made this to easy," he laughed and motioned with his hands. The men stepped away from the walls, picked up their guns and glared at us.
"We won't give up without a fight," I frowned, easing a dagger from my waistband.
"You are outnumbered," he smiled evilly.
"Aren't you awake early? It's mid afternoon," I circled him.
"I am not a Youngling that requires sleep," he shook his head. He pulled the dagger from his boot and twirled it in his hand. "I may be younger than you, but I will kill you!" he laughed and circled me.
"Boss?" one of the men called.
He raised his hand, "I will fight The Vampire Extraordinaire by myself. Hold them!" he pointed to Bobby and Elaine. One of the men took Bobby's gun and Bobby held Elaine close.
"Let them go," I pointed to them and lowered my dagger, "I won't fight you."
"What?" he stopped and frowned at me.
"Let them go. You have what you want. You have me," I shrugged, "Take me to Ella; alive."
"My Queen would be happy with me if I brought her The Extraordinaire...alive," he smiled broadly.
"That's right," I nodded.
He looked at Bobby then back at me. He looked at Bobby, "If I let you go, you will not follow us?"
"No," Bobby said sorrowfully.
"Take your sister and be happy that I let you live," he frowned.
"We can't leave you," Bobby looked at me.
"I'll be fine," I smiled, "The Queen doesn't want me dead."
"She wants your blood," Elaine said as tears fell down her cheeks.
"And she'll have it," Nikita said happily, "and I'll be the one to give it to her!"
"Marcus!" Bobby shook his head.
"She'll kill you!" Elaine whispered.
"I'll be fine," I smiled at her warmly.
"I'm so sorry," she cried, "She said she would kill Bobby and Christine if I didn't help her."
"It's alright," I touched her arm and she hugged me tight, crying on my chest. I looked at Nikita, "Do we have a deal? Me for them?"
He smiled broadly, "You will not fight us?" I shook my head slowly.
"I don't like it," Bobby said.
"Get them out of here!" Nikita ordered and pointed to the door.
"No!" Bobby struggled to break free of the two men that took hold of him. "Marcus!" he pulled from them, but they shoved him towards the door. Elaine screamed as one man pulled her from me and jerked her towards the doors.
Once they were all outside, Nikita smiled at me, "Now," Nikita laughed as the men came back into the warehouse. "Take his weapons," he waved his dagger at me.
Two men seized my arms and another jerked my gun and dagger from me. They held me tight. I pretended that I couldn't break from their hold and sighed, "Where are you taking me?"
"To my Queen," he smiled and put his dagger away. "Bring him," he ordered and walked away. They pulled me after him and we went towards the back of the warehouse. We went to a door and he unlocked it. He went down the stairs and his guards dragged me down the steps after him.
I rolled my eyes....she was here all along.
