I slowly opened my eyes and looked around. I had been strapped to an exam table with thick, leather straps. I pulled on the wrist bands and they refused to break. I pulled my legs and my knees raised, but my feet remained secure. I rocked my hips from side to side, but the strap there, remained too. I raised my head and looked around. I was still in the basement, but I had lost the chains and my shirt. I dropped my head back on the table and closed my eyes. When would I be rescued? Would I die before they could reach me?
"Yes Lover," Ella laughed as she walked up to me. "Here he is," she held the cell phone to my ear.
"Marcus?" Nigel gasped.
"Grandpa!" I said urgently, "Don't come."
"We'll get you back, Son," he vowed and I could hear Anna crying.
"No! Stay away. Keep Anna away. Get her out of here. Go somewhere safe!" I yelled.
Ella put the phone to her own ear and laughed, "Now listen to me, you old bastard," her eyes narrowed, "You had better do what this Youngling says. If you come, my men will imprison you again and this time, you wouldn't get away," she laughed, "Just ask Michael what I do to vampires of the Second House," she held the phone from her ear.
"Ella don't hurt him," I heard Nigel yell, "Your hatred is for me, not him. I'M the one that turned you into a vampire."
She touched the phone off and threw it against the wall. It slammed into the concrete and splintered. I looked up at her and she smiled, "Now what do I do with you?" her fingernail touched the scratch on my chest and I nearly cried out, but bit my lips down instead. She pouted, "Awe, not even a little scream?" she laughed heartily, "You should have heard your Father." She turned to the table of instruments, "He always was a yeller though."
"Let me go," I ordered and pulled on the straps.
"Oh," she tapped a knife on the strap on my hip, "those came from the local zoo. I doubt you'll pop those." She turned the blade in her hand and dropped it onto my chest. My body jerked in the straps and I turned my face away.
"Now that's really not fair," she seized a fistful of my hair and turned my face to her. "That's better!" she laughed and pushed the knife into my chest. I gasped and closed my eyes to the white, hot pain. She released my hair and turned back to the table, "I've discovered that silver hurts more," she turned back to me and shrugged, "I don't know why." She carried over another knife. I panted heavily and my body broke out in a sweat. "You'll hate this one too," she smiled and touched my chest with the tip.
My eyes narrowed, "I hate you."
She shoved in the blade and I grunted, "Ha! That's better."

"Marcus! Marcus!" a woman said and shook me. "Oh please wake up!" she begged. My eyes fluttered open and I stared at her. "I'm sorry," she cried and put her forehead to mine. "I didn't know what to do," she cried.
"Elaine," I sighed.
"I'm getting you out of here," she shook my head and I looked up at her. "Tell me what to do," she gestured to the knives in my chest.
"Get these straps off," I jerked my wrists.
She nodded and started unbuckling my wrist. "I'll help you," she cried and worked quickly. I caught her wrist in my hand and bit into it. "Marcus no!" she gasped.
I tossed her wrist away, "I won't kill you...," I pulled on the other strap, "...yet."
"We have to hurry," she rubbed her eye and pulled on the strap at my waist. "What about those?" she winced at my chest.
I took one of them and pulled it out. They hurt as bad coming out as they did going in. "Just do it," I laid back and panted.
Elaine grabbed two knives and pulled them out, causing me to groan. "Hurry," she pulled a third and went to my other foot. She opened the buckle as I pulled the last knife. "Come on," she held her arms out to me and I rolled off the table. "Careful," she grunted and I slapped my hand on the table to hold myself up. "How am I going to get you out of here?" she whispered.
My vision remained blurry, "I don't know," I held my bleeding chest and panted.
"What's the hold up down here?" someone ran down the steps.
"He's bleeding. We're to late," Elaine cried.
"Kid, you're being a liability," Allan laughed and pulled up on my arm as someone else pulled up on my other arm.
"How did you get here?" I reached for his wrist. He tried to pull free, but I held him easily.
I bit down and he gasped, "Easy!"
I took nourishing gulps and dropped his wrist, "Don't worry. I can control it."
"Marcus," Amanda said and put her wrist to my lips, "Hurry. I think we need your help to get out of here."
I took three long drinks and closed my eyes tight. The warmth passed through my body, then the electrical current.
"I want him alive!" Ella yelled.
"Take him!" Amanda said and she shoved my body at Allan.
"Dude, you gotta wake up!" Allan said and dropped me to the floor.
I struggled to my knees and the world tilted. I could hear crashing in the room. A body fell near me and I pulled it close. "It's me!" Allan said and shoved me away. I rolled over and got up on my knees again. I took hold of the table and pulled myself up.
"I'll kill you!" a man sneered and took hold of my neck. "Then I'll have the power for myself!" he laughed and sank his teeth in my neck.
I reached up and took the man by the hair and jerked him back. I heard a snap of bone, just before I sank my teeth into his neck and drained him.
