"Okay," Allan talked as we walked down the street, "so tell me what happened."
"Giving you more ammo to shoot me down with isn't high on my to do list," I laughed and cleared my throat.
He waved his hand, "Nah, I'm done with that." I looked at him doubtfully and he laughed. Girls walked by and smiled at us. "Hello," he winked at them and they laughed, moving on. He turned and walked backwards, "Are you sure we can't...."
"Better not," I laughed, "We don't know this area. We might take somebody we aren't supposed to."
"Yeah," he turned back around, "I guess you're right." He pulled my arm, to stop me and smiled at me, "How about dancing with a pretty girl?"
I looked at the pub. It was small and we could hear music and laughter. "I think that's okay," I laughed and followed him inside.

We danced with girls and pretended to drink the alcohol they bought us.
"Oh man," Allan followed me up the stairs and yawned, "I never knew you could have fun with humans."
"So are you hungry?" I shrugged and walked down the hall, "Come into my room." I led him inside and left the door open. I went to the end table, by the fireplace. "Whoever my maid is...I'm always full."
"Great!" he laughed and yawned again.
"Sleepy?" I laughed at him.
"Nearly dawn," he nodded and took the goblet from me. He took a sip, "Some of us need sleep." He started to take a sip and stopped, moaning, "Crap!" I swallowed my drink hard and gave him a questioning look, shaking my head. He closed his eyes and groaned, "We have to get into those things tonight," he pointed behind me.
I looked over at my bed and noticed that it wasn't turned down. Then I saw the open coffin on the other side of the bed. "Oh," I smiled at him, "How else are you going to get home?"
"God, I hate those things," he drank down his drink.
"Is it ALL of them or just yours?" I asked and swallowed my drink.
"All," he rolled his eyes. He yawned suddenly, "I'm tired."
"Sit down for a minute," I shrugged, "I'll get you to your coffin later."
"Just a minute," he nodded.
"Sure," I took his elbow and sat him in a chair.
"Thanks," he sighed, "It came on so quickly," he yawned.
"Well," I laughed and took his empty goblet from him. The girl I had danced with had given me a sleeping pill when I told her I would never fall asleep. It was to easy to drop it in the warm blood before I gave it to him. "You just rest," I patted his shoulder.
"Okay," he sighed and closed his eyes.
I smiled to myself, he was asleep already. I easily picked him up and carried him to my coffin. I carefully tucked him in and quietly shut the lid. I looked over at the dark curtains on the balcony doors and felt the pull of sleep. Allan's room was here somewhere. I just needed to find it. I yawned and said to myself, "And find it quickly."
I shut my door and went to the room next to mine. I looked around, trying to figure out who was sleeping in the coffin by the bed. There was only one way. I went to the coffin and went to my knees. I grunted opening the lid and gently raised the satin. I smiled, it was my father. He looked so peaceful. I returned the satin and pushed up to stand. My body felt heavy and my movements were slow.
I went to the next room and snuck in. I went to the coffin and pulled up on the lid. The heavy lid weighed down on me and I almost couldn't push it back. Once opened, I leaned on the edge, panting. The coffin had somebody in it. I should have closed the lid and left, but I needed to see who this was.
I brushed the satin back and gasped. It was her. A silk veil covered her face as she slept. "Anna," I whispered and touched her face.
"What are you doing?" Nigel said from behind me.
"I was....," I breathed. I couldn't take my eyes from her.
"Go on," he laughed. I slid the veil from her face and kissed her lips softly. She was so delicate and beautiful. "Let's get you to your coffin," he said, took me by the arms and lifted me. "Why are you awake?" he pulled me to his side and walked with me.
"Allan is in my coffin," I pointed to my room, "Where is Allan's room?"
"You boys," Nigel laughed and pulled me into a room. He walked me to the coffin and put me in it. "Next time, come home sooner," he scolded.
I laughed, "I got him in the coffin."
"Yes, you did," he patted my chest and I closed my eyes.
