"Who are you?" I demanded.
"Michael, your wounded Father," he panted, rubbing the wound I had made on his chest. "I should get you home, to Nigel. Maybe I should just hide you," he turned from me, "Oh well. Come on."
He led me down the alley and across the street. He unlocked the car and said quickly, "Get in."
Michael drove around town, in silence. Now I sat on the passenger side of the car, in guilt. He acted as if HE was the victim in all this. He seemed to forget that he had attacked me.
Finally, he spoke, "I really don't know what to do with you."
"What do you mean? And what did you mean; what have I done?" I frowned at his profile.
"Nevermind that," he shook his head, "The important thing is to get you into hiding," his voice lowered and he spoke to himself, "I don't think your right for Her Majesty."
"Hiding?" I laughed off his comment, "I wanna explore."
He looked at me through the side of his eye, "Haven't you always lived in this town?"
"Sure," I shrugged, "but not as a vampire."
"It's the same," he sighed.
"I doubt that. Take me to a club," I pointed at a bar.
"I believe that would be ill advised," he shook his head.
"Take me there!" I snapped and the windshield cracked. He looked at the small crack, then at me as he stopped the car. I swallowed hard, I was just as shocked at what my forceful tone had done as he was. "Where did that come from?" I whispered.
"I'm not giving you to Anna. I'm taking you home to Nigel," he turned the wheel and sped away, "Maybe he'll know what has happened."
"Who is Anna?" I kept my tone low. Fear was creeping it's way into my stomach.
"She is our Queen. Daughter of Nigel," he sighed, "Nigel created others too. He knows more about Younglings than I do. He'll know what to do with you."
"Will he hurt me?" I trembled inside my uniform.
"No," he smiled at me, then said gravely, "Me? Maybe."
"Why?" I frowned.
"I wasn't exactly SUCCESSFUL," he sighed.
"You mean he SENT you out to get me?" I gasped.
He nodded, "He said I was to get a young man for Her Majesty," he sighed angrily, "I hate being his servant. I'm a full grown man capable of...." He looked at me apologetically, "I'm sorry. This isn't your fault," he snorted, "You're just the poor bastard caught in the middle." He thought for a moment in silence and added softly, "But I have changed you and you are MY responsibility."
"Gee you sound thrilled," I laughed, despite the nervous balls in my stomach.
"I've never turned anyone before," he smiled at me suddenly, "It's kind of exciting."
"Gee thanks, Dad," I laughed.
