A servant knocked on my door, "I will show you downstairs, sir," he smiled at me. He led me down the long staircase and across the foyer. Twenty people stood around the living room and some sat in chairs or couches. They talked softly among themselves, sipping from small metal goblets.
I felt out of place in the presence of the aristocrats. Queen Anna stood in the middle of six men who were enrapt with her. She gave me a slight nod as a servant offered me a drink. I took a goblet and looked into it. A dark red liquid stained the metal goblet. I took a small snif and the familiar metallic smell of blood touched my nose. I sipped the tepid liquid and sighed. It wasn't the same as getting it from a victim, but it was satisfying.
Another servant came up to me, "More sir?" he held up a coffee decanter.
I held out my glass and he poured a generous amount. "Thank you," I smiled and he smiled back, moving on.
"It is magnifique," a man said next to me, holding his glass out for me to see.
"It's not bad," I laughed.
"You are Marcus, no?" he pointed his glass at me.
"Marcus, yes," I laughed and the French man smiled broadly. "I'm at a disadvantage," I looked around the room, "It seems everyone knows who I am and I know nobody here."
"Au contraire mon frere, they know WHAT you are," he shook his finger at me.
"And just WHAT am I?" I asked in a low voice.
"Un Vampire Extraordinaire!!" he laughed and threw his arm up in the air. When I only frowned at him, he smiled and patted my shoulder, whispering, "A very extra ordinary vampire."
"Why am I so special?" I growled into my goblet and swallowed hard.
He laughed, "Ah, mon frere, you are young but very powerful. There is talk that you could take a House."
"Me?" I gasped and he hissed at me, gesturing for me to be quiet. I looked around and lowered my voice, "I don't plan on taking a House. Even if I did, why does everybody want me in their House?"
He looked over the small group of people, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, mon frere."
"I suppose," I mumbled.
"How long have you been a vampire?" he looked up at me.
"What time is it?" I smiled and shook my head at his confusion, "Only a few months."
"You are already this powerful?" he gasped, "In a years time, you will be able to rule the country side."
"Ruling was never in my plans," I shook my head and took my final sip as another servant offered me more.
"What ARE your plans?" he turned to me slightly.
"I never thought about it," I shrugged and took a sip of my drink.
"Well," King Byron said magnanimously, "I see you have joined us," he clapped his hand on my shoulder. "I say," he lowered his voice, "have you thought of moving to another House?"
"Not really, Your Majesty," I said, watching Anna laugh, "I'm kinda happy where I'm at."
"Ah, I see," he laughed in a dirty tone and I looked at him, "Can't say as I blame you, young fellow. Queen Anna is a remarkable young woman."
"Oh mon Dieu," the French vampire groaned.
"Gentleman," I smiled, bowing slightly at each of them, "I think I'll return to my room."
"Of course," King Byron nodded.
"Au revoir," the French vampire called as I walked away from them.
I gave a servant my goblet and crossed the foyer. Parties were never my thing and being grilled by a French vampire was DEFINITELY not my thing. I took the stairs two at a time, crossed the landing and skipped stairs again. At the top of the stairs, I bumped into someone and she cried out, but remained on her feet.
"I'm sorry," I held her arms, "Are you alright?"
"Da," she nodded and took a step back. She smiled up at me with an appreciative look on her face. "It is glad I am dat we ran into each other."
"And which House are you?" I sighed, pulling my shirt down.
"Fourth," she panted, "Russia."
"A lot of countries here," I shook my head.
"Yes," she leaned into me, "and you are looking very well." She laid her hands on my chest and gasped, "Serdtsebivenive!"
"What?" I held her close.
"You have heartbeat," her eyes widened and she pulled open my shirt, causing buttons to fly as she slammed me against the wall.
"Be careful!" I grunted and looked down at her hand covering my heart.
She smiled up at me, "You are him?"
"Yeah," I rubbed the back of my head, "The weirdo vampire that everybody wants in their House."
"It would be most interesting," she laughed. She looked at my chest and put a small kiss on it.
"Thanks," I said softly and she looked up at me with adoration.
"You are most beautiful of vampires," she nodded and her hands covered my chest. She watched her hands soothe over my chest and across my stomach. "Most beautiful," she sighed, opened my pants and put one hand inside. "You are so warm, Krasavitsa."
"Uh," I said and my breath trembled, "thanks, I think."
"Krasavitsa," she whispered near my lips and kissed me deeply. "Krasavitsa u krasavitsa," she said each word as her tongue slid over each of my nipples. Then her tongue went across my stomach and then went lower. I moaned as she covered me and looked around quickly. Nobody was around and she was going to take me right here in the hall.
"I don't even know your name," I moaned.
She stopped her torture long enough to smile up at me, "Darya," she breathed hotly on my throbbing member.
"Darya," I sighed when she started up again. She hummed an affirmation that I had pronounced her name correctly and I nearly came undone. My hands took handfuls of her brown hair and pulled her closer. I heard voices at the bottom of the stairs and I tapped her shoulder, "Someone is coming!"
"I hear nothing," she said softly.
"Well, I can," I helped her stand and hugged her close, "You have to stop that anyway."
"Why?" she laughed wickedly.
"Pretty dirty for a Queen, don't ya think?" I frowned at her.
"Ah," she kissed me and laughed, "Who told you I was Queen?" she reached into my shirt and scratched her nails across my ribs then walked down the stairs.
"OW!" I gasped and looked down at the four marks on my side.
