Satan's Duplicity

I was getting dressed into my hunting attire waiting for Dalton to get here. My pistols and holsters were out. I was decked in a black thermal long sleeved shirt, a pair of custom made leather pants and my denim jacket along with my scuffed beat up combat boots.

Maryse was waiting besides me. She was joining me on this as an attack plan and also because she went everywhere with me now. Especially since she got the service dog vest making it illegal to deny her entry. Also because she could render her invisible to the naked human eye.

'A very useful trick in bad situations.' 'That is true.' After putting my hair up in a simply pony tail. Something Angel insisted was necessary in life. Maryse had her spiked collar on along with the leather leash attached. Maryse had begun to get used to the feeling of the collar.

Bending down I reached underneath my bed and pulled out the huge black weapon case and put it on the bed. Tons of ammo resided in it and I two extra clips. I slipped a silver dagger inside my combat boot along with another dagger.

My eyes rested on the sword. I'd have to bring the case out. People might freak out if I came out with a sword. But I carried a license to carry and my pistols were hidden deep in their holsters which was typically covered by my black denim jacket.

I shut the weapons case and slid it underneath my bed before pushing myself up and moving my hair from my face. "Ok now down to business." I said to myself and walked out to where Maryse sat on the ground near her dog bed. I reached for the hybrid book and held it.

I'd show Dalton the passage. 'The one with the equal power slash not equal power?' 'Yeah I didn't think of it at first but the hybrid could be an equal division of power. It could even be a hybrid that was born not created.' Satan nodded liking my ideas no doubt.

After getting all my things I waited on the couch for Dalton's knock. Angel went out with Nico an hour or two ago to go out to the park and then get dinner. I'd probably being having take-out but hey I worked out enough to eat off of take-out.

With that Maryse got up on the couch next to me and I patted her head. "We are gonna catch the hybrid that attacked you and we are gonna make them pay. Make them wish their father never did it with their mother. They'd wish the first never put them to this and never knew I existed." I told Maryse.

'Lots of demons in hell know you exist.' 'Shut up Satan don't ruin my speech to Maryse.' Satan backed off. Maryse and I had a bond unlike Vee she'd defend me to her last breath. Yes she tried to kill me at one point but only because of Vee's orders.

We had a relationship like no other. I treated my hellions and hellhound with respect. I'd never force them to do something they wouldn't want to. 'Which is a reason you are feared by demons in hell. The vessel of Satan who has his powers but compassion for the ones that serve her. It terrifies them knowing that the ones that serve you do it out of their own will and would defend you even if you let them go as they respect you.' 'What goes around comes back around in time.'

Satan nodded. Trace learned that the hard way. Being a manwhore got him kicked out of his pack and time in jail no doubt. Maryse put her head in my lap and I scratched her head just as there was a knock at the door. Maryse and I got up and went to the door and I opened it.

Dalton stood there with Kadan behind him. I motioned the two future leaders in. "What'd you find?" Dalton asked. "Well some hybrids are equal in power and others lean towards a different power. I think this hybrid was born not made." I said summing it up.

Dalton nodded. "Is Maryse ok?" Kadan asked turning towards me. "She's fine. Will be even better when I put a bullet between the eyes of the hybrid." I said clenching my fists. Kadan smiled awkwardly before going over to Dalton. "Where do you want to go?" Dalton asked. "Is there woods nearby?" I asked.

Dalton nodded. "Maybe the hybrid fled there." I said. "There was a hybrid attack there." Dalton said. "A lot has happened without me here." Kadan said. "Better that way. Isadora needs her daddy in one piece." Dalton said glancing up at Kadan who smiled at the mention of his daughter.

I hope he was being a good father. Isadora deserved to have the best. To believe Alana named her after me. "You were Alana's first person she considered a friend. That's why she named her after you." Kadan said. "The look on your face gave it away." Kadan said before I could ask how he knew.

'That is strange. Alana never had friends.' 'Alana said she was referred to as the packs slut's sister. Must of been hard from her and she was really shy before she met Kadan.' I nodded. Alana had a nice life ahead of her.

She had a cute little daughter, a very protective and kind mate. Kadan acted so sweet to her and that was good. They may of been together before I met her but I still got to be the protective friend no matter what after all Alana was a friend of mine.

"Yeah ok. Let's go." Dalton said and then he walked off. Grabbing Maryse's leash and the book I followed after Dalton outside to his deathtrap of a car. Dalton opened the car door and motioned me in. Maryse climbed into the back and got in reluctantly as Kadan went to his car.

With that Dalton pulled out and went off.

"So what exactly are we looking for?" Kadan asked as I put on Maryse's vest but switched out the patches for HO canine. "A hybrid scent." Dalton said turning to him. Kadan's eyes turned gold as Randall reared out and sniffed the air.

I looked away when the two went to strip and shift. Nudity. Still haven't gotten used to it. 'You will one day.' 'Don't even go there.' Satan smirked. I cut him off before he could even form the image. I looked over to the large red wolf and black wolf.

Dalton sniffed the air his nostrils flicking out. Maryse was about Kadan's height maybe a little shorter. Her form right now was more misty as she was in her hellhound form. Dalton and Kadan took off and Maryse followed behind them. I took out my pistol and jogged after them cursing the speed of them.

I caught Dalton and Maryse's tail and speed up. They were freaking fast! Like human back here slow the pace! I'm gonna die back here! Satan! Satan damn it! Soon the two wolves and hellhound slowed down their pace allowing me to catch up with them after some heavy heaving.

Dalton looked at me and came up. "Fuck off. You left me behind so therefore it's your fault." I told him. His eyes turned gold and tilted back at me. "You two Maryse." I said. Maryse shrugged it off as I pushed myself up. "Ok lead us to the scent." I told him and then the three were off with me following.

1256. Finally some action. The next chapter pick up from right here. But yeah real stuff is in the next chapter. Until next time action marshmallows.
