We are at the doctor's now. To make sure that Lydia is pregnant. It has been 2 weeks since she took the pregnancy tests and she is sure that she will give birth to a baby. Something that doesn't make her truly happy . And she won't tell me the reason why

"Mendes" the office lady calls and we get up , following her to the narrow and cold corridors of the hospital until we reach our room

We get in and she the doctor , sitting on his desk , looking at us and then smiling

"Please take a seat" he says pointing to the two empty seats and we do as he says  "I guess you are the Mendes" he says , checking his appointment list

"Yes" Lydia says , looking at her hands

"I'm happy to see young people having kids . It's that most of your peers just get rid of the not even born babies" the doctor comments , making Lydia fee uncomfortable so I cough to change the subject

"How about moving to the point?" Lydia asks and the doctor nods , guiding us to the room , next to his office

He motions Lydia to sit on the chair and lift her shirt up. I sit on the corner of the room ans look at the procedure , like a classical father

He starts applying a blue jel on her belly , which must be really cold and the starts pressing her belly with a small machine at the area where he applied the jel

"Would you like to have a kid right now?" He asks us and we look at each other

"No" Lydia says

"Yes" I answer

"I don't know what to say.  You will have a baby . You are 2 months old. I will leave you alone to talk about it. I will be back in 10" the doctor says giving Lydia a towel to take the jel off and then exits the room

"What are we gonna do?" I ask her , as she takes off the jel

"I know you won't find a job. And we will continue being broke , and with a kid it will be even worse" she says , still seeing everything black and white

"Why don't you believe me for one time?. I'm said that I will to take that kid happy. But you won't believe me"

"Cause I know you Shawn. You never do anything. How about being a big star? And having millions of fans? The only fan you have is your mother and your sister. I'm sure you won't sell out all the tickets in the Madison square garden. Oh yeah. I forgot. You will never get into Madison square garden to perform" Lydia yells throwing the towel to the rubbish

"My parents didn't have that much money when I was born but I'm still happy and healthy"

"Well my parents had money until I chose you over my family"

"The baby will be our family"

"This baby means nothing to me" she yells

"But it means the world to me" I yell back. And then we just sit back ans look around

She takes deep breaths , trying to calm herself. And I can't believe that blames me for her decisions.

Her family is one of those who eat with golden spoons and don't have to work to get through. No , her parents aren't the king and queen . They are businessmen , that have other people to work for them. Years ago ,her parents told her to pick me or them. She picked me and my parents treated her like her own daughter. Unlike her parents that would treat me like a stay dog , full of illnesses

"What are we gonna do?" She asks looking at me

"I don't know. Why don't you ask your instinct?" I ask her , rolling my eyes

"I don't want to end up like my parents okay? That's why I don't want to have this baby" she confesses

"Are you like your parents?" I ask her

"No but what If I will be like them?"

"Then I will be in charge for the baby" I say , walking to her side , and putting her head on my chest

I don't want to pressure her to have this baby , but I can't stop thinking that If my parents had done the same , i wouldn't be here today

The doctor enters the room ans waits for our final decision. Lydia tells me to make the final choice. It's like giving someone a gun and telling him not to try to pull the trigger

"So?" The doctor asks

I grab Lydia's bad and pull her near me as we go to the door

"We won't need your help for today anymore. See you next month" I say and Lydia looks at me with watery eyes

She said to pick. I picked what seemed right to me
