At first, Andrew made me sing songs acepela. Without music.
He gave me ' one last time ' by Ariana Grande, 'in the name of love' By Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha ( I think he also helped Martin to write this song) , and I sang him a couple of my own songs like ' aftertaste ' , ' stitches' , ' mercy' (I added the high note to impress him) and 'sure of myself ' *Y/N SURE OF MYSELF IN A SONG THAT SHAWN WROTE BUT HE DIDN'T INTENT TO PUBLISH IT UNTIL IT GOT LINKED*
" I think I have my next big star. But can I ask you something?" Andrew says as I swipe away Ela's tears
"Yeah go ahead" I tell him
"Why does Ela cry when you sing. And I mean the songs you wrote. I saw it on Instagram when you didn't inactivate your account" Andrew says with a confused face
"I don't really know. It's like a bond. The songs that I write have a deep meaning . About when Lydia wanted to get rid of Ela, when I found out that Lydia was cheating on me , when I was reliefed to learn that Ela is my daughter, when Ela was born. It has a meaning. And Ela gets it." I explain to Andrew
"You are strong Mendes. I don't know many lonely fathers. Most of them would give their kids for adoption. And you have been through so much. I admire you. Now. The schedule" Andrew says.
It makes me feel unique when I'm a role mode for other people . I don't know why but It feels like I'm doing something good
"I'm all ears" I tell Andrew
"At first, you will do an opening act for Taylor Swift. I have known her for years. While opening for US and Canada tour , you will be practising on your music. I will help with that. A month after the tour of US and Canada is over , you will publish your first song. You choose what it will be. Promotion , video clip ect. 8 months after you drop your first single and you will also publish a couple you will release your first EP or album. I don't know yet. Again promotion, video clips and after that, tour" Andrew says
He continues explaining me the whole schedule. Taylor Swift? Are you crazy? How can I say no to that? And he also has in mind Ela which is good if he wants to be my manager.
"Woah I mean,this is all are incredible. But I want to publish an EP like a month after the first song, for the crown to learn about me and like a year later a full album" I tell him
"That is pretty cool Shawn. It could actually work" Andrew says
"I want the first album to be calm. Like a young soul. The second to be like a young adult wrote it. And the third to have like suspense. Collabs with DJs, to has a little bit of rock , swearing ect." I explain to him and in this way , we went on organising a new schedule
"So are you gonna sign with Island Records? "
"And you will be my manager?"
"Yeah. That will be sure thing" Andrew says
