You know something? Life is great. It's great when you don't care anymore about what people may think and just do what your heart tells you to.

Andrew has helped me a lot. Geoff is still something like my brother. He roasted me like a brother too.

And today is very special day. For me and Ela. A year ago I would that this very own day, I would be in a basement, crying because Lydia left me , or unemployed with a kid and with my family having disowned me

Instead, I'm here with Ela , mom and Aaliyah. Andrew and Geoff are also here . Today is the day I held Ela in my hands for the very first time.

"Who's birthday is?" Geoff says , giving Ela her present. I unwrap it for her and see that it's a golden necklace with 'Manuela' written in it

"Dude , this has costed a billion dollars"

"Well Shawn , you don't celebrate your friend's daughter's first birthday every day. And she is special for all of us" Geoff says wearing Ela her necklace.

"Remind me to buy you a gift for your birthday" I tell him , laughing

"Even if I remind you, you will forget it Mendes" Geoff says and that's the roasting I was talking about.

Ela is able to walk, I mean to do a few steps and walk on her own for a little bit but not walk normally. And has been saying her first words. I'm really proud of my baby girl.

About me , I have been making all my dreams come true. Not even in my dreams , have I dreamt of all this.

"The cake" Aaliyah yells family , as my mom gets into the living room with Ela's cake.

It's a baby pink coloured cake with a 3-D figure on it, with me and Ela. Actually it is inspired from the photo my mom took when see saw me holding Ela.

"Happy birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Ela, happy birthday to you" everyone sings and Ela just claps her hand

Actually,her hands are not even touching each other. It's like me . When I'm drunk. Not that I'm drunk all the time but from once in a while that I get drunk , Geoff makes sure he records me and then post it.

Ela looks around, to everyone smiling at her and she starts to cry.

"Aw , she is just like you" Aaliyah comments

"Guess who is not coming to LA" I reply and she makes her face like she is shook.

Mom wouldn't let me to take her with me anyway.

The door knocks and mom opens it. It's Nash and Ed.

"I hope we are not late" Nash says , giving me a present for Ela.

"Of course we are idiot. You couldn't hurry up" Ed says , hugging Ela and giving me her gift

"We are about to blow the candles" I tell them and they take their phones out to record it

I blow out the candle for Ela and she she starts crying even louder.

"I" she says , pointing to the cake.

"I think we should light them again" Andre says and I use a lighter to do it. This time I let her do it. But Ed helps her a little bit.

"That's my girl" Mom says , picking up Ela.

The next hours are spend really well. Making jokes with Ed , Nash, Andrew and Geoff. Mom and Aaliyah couldn't get enough of Ela. It's sad, because tomorrow I will be in LA , making history, without mom and Aaliyah. But if they are proud and happy,I am
