Lonely father // S.M. ( Completed)

EMA's are today. And I have been rehearsing for the performance for a week. So,here we are. Me,Geoff, Andrew and Ela, ready to go throw the red carpet

"Okay Shawn,this is pretty simple,you go around with Ela, stop when you see Becca Dudley, have a little interview with her,then go back to the carpet to be photographed even more,we will meet you in the end of the carpet" Andrew says as I hold Ela

"What if I ruin everything?" I ask Andrew

"You will continue being a living meme. Now go" Geoff says and I lightly laugh.

I turn around, taking a deep breath,then walking on the red carpet,which is blue and I don't know why they call it 'red' when it's 'blue'.

I wearing something casual,in comparison with what everyone else is wearing. Black jeans,a normal jacket and a white t-shirt.

Ela tho,is the one stealing all the glamour. My mom instead on her wearing a pink dress she bought her,so she is wearing it. She will be watching the EMAs so I can't lie to her.

"Shawn,here. Ela give us a smile" the photographers yells as we pass through the red carpet. A stay for a few seconds,with Ela in my arms for them to take photos before I go to Becca Dudley,who will be interviewing me

"Shawn Mendes guys. And his daughter,Ela" Becca says as I step on the platform,and trip a little bit. Thank god I was holding Ela next to me

"Hi guys" I say taking a microphone. Ela is wearing a pair of special earphones so the noise won't cause her any problem

"We have seen you for the past months. Your progress is.. actually we haven't seen a phenomenon like you" Becca says and the crowd goes wild

"Thank you. It seems a lot me. When my dad died,I deleted all my social networks,I don't know why. Probably because I wanted to dedicate myself to Ela,but afterwards,I found out what I wanted more,was what my dad wanted. Happiness. Ela and a career" I say and the crowd starts clapping

"Ela. From where does this name come from?" Becca asks me

"My dad's name is Manuel but we called him Manny,so I named Ela after him , Manuela but we call her Ela." I explain

"Can you explain us her full name?" Becca asks me

"Yeah ofc. Okay it's Manuela Zoé Mendes, and I picked her middle name when she was just born,like the very first second I held her in my arms,she was and is my life. I started singing to her and she was so cute. I was the person she felt first. So,the doctor told me that he knows greek,and life in greek is zoé." I explain

"That's pretty interesting. You are a great dad Shawn. You have been through a lot. I know you don't what to talk about her mom" Becca says

"Actually I wanted to say that Ela wouldn't be here if I hadn't instead on keeping her,I wouldn't even be recognised. Even her mom cheated on me,Ela was the only thing in my mind. Her mom did awful things,like leaving her own child for a man,so I won't forgive her that. I'm gonna be Ela's mom and dad" I say

"You are totally right Shawn. Ela deserves the best. And you too. I hope you do great with your performance. See you later" Becca says

After thanking her and getting back to the red carpet door more photos,I finally make it backstage. I'm gonna open the EMAs .
