Chapter 16

Stella's POV 

I watch as Lucia stormed out of the house after wishing me farewell and telling me she would see me tomorrow night. I turn and face my god father. I hadn't heard much of what was said in the argument but i could tell it was heated and there are secrets being kept from me, big ones. I could also tell that they were once lovers. I watch my God father very carefully as he watches Lucia leave. His eyes were following her wherever she went and i she a spark in there, a love fro her that he had tried to bury deep within him. Obviously it didn't work. 

" What was that about?" I question. He didn't turn to look at me instead kept looking out the window. 

" Nothing that is to your concern Stella." He murmured. 

Nothing that is to my concern. 

Nothing that is to my concern?

Nothing that is to MY concern!?

Fuck that. 

" How dare you." I growled my anger swarming inside me, building up and bubbling all over the place. My anger was flowing off me in huge waves. " You were very obviously talking about me and i want to know why! Your keeping secrets Arthur and i fully intent on finding out what they are!" 

" Stella wait-" 

" NO! I refuse to get fed anymore lies!" and with that i slammed  the door storming outside. I ran and i ran left my anger fuel my footsteps as they thundered against the smooth pavement. My eyes were blurry and i didn't know where I was going. My instincts took me into the woods. 

Never ever go into the woods at night

My godfathers voice echoed in my mind but my heart chose to ignore it. I ran until i was far away from the streetlights and the laughter of people in the streets. I ran until there was silence. Using my incredible senses i couldn't feel anybody around for miles so i let my power loose. Dangerous? Very. But i was too tired of keeping it hidden to care anymore. I hated being in the disguise i hated it so much. It just wasn't me. No matter where i got, if i'm with my parents all aways form them, here. Im always forced into this mould, one that isn't me. Im not saying my disguise isn't beautiful because holy hell it is. But i just hated being in what felt like someone else skin. 

But with the feel of my power also came my sent and my sense of presence. I just hoped that nobody would notice. 

I climbed up a tree that was nearby and when i got to the top i just sat there watching the sun set. My mind managed to switch back to my mate. I wondered how easy it was for me and my wolf to reject him. Sure he had done bad things to me and my wolf but I thought that even those who go through torchere by their mate still find it hard to reject them as they think that their mate can be redeemed. I remember my mother telling me that she had once rejected my father but i took her ages and she went through hell, my father was going to marry another and mark her! Now that is a true reason to reject your mate. I pondered that thought, oh my gosh. My heat. 

Why haven't i had it yet? It was strange. You get your heat one month after you meet your mate. Its a way too speed up the marking and mating process. I met my mate around three months ago and.... nothing. at all. I guess i could say its a good thing cause i would be in heat when i transform which would triple the agony. But its just i don't know, strange. It was as if he wasn't even really my mate. The mate bond must not of been that strong which again is super strange considering my mate bond was suppose to be the strongest. 

I really needed to get my hands on that book of prophecies because nothing my parents told me is making scene anymore. 

The sun had now completely set and the sky was a dark void with little sparkles sprinkled like freckles. The was a gentle breeze coming in that pulled at the dark locks around my shoulders. My eyes keep drooping closed and i know its time to head back home no matter how mad I am. 

I climb down the tree carefully due to my tiredness it would of been super easy for me to slip and fall. I finally reach the bottom. It was pitch dark, now would of been a brilliant time for my wolf to company me but no. She still silent. 

Snap! 

My head whipped round my eyes now wide with alert. 

" Wh-who's there?" I call out. There were some rustling of trees and shouting in the distance. "Come out! I know your there!" My voice wavered a bit and my lack of energy would make this fight impossible, if it even come to a fight. 

I got my feet in a ready stance and help my fists up ready to protect myself. 

"Sass?" I turned around to see Luke standing there in confusion. " What are you doing here?" 

"Luke! Thank god. I was just watching the sunset." 

"In the middle of the woods? Couldn't you do that from your God fathers house?" 

I shrugged my shoulders. "Yea but i needed some fresh air away from him." 

It was then that i felt my heart beat a little faster in my chest. I took a deep breath and Inhaled the most delicious sent. It was Peppermint, woodlands and the ocean breeze. All rolled into one. It was delicious and all man. I nearly fainted with delight. I began to walk towards where the smell was coming from, it was as if i was in a trance. A huge trance.

"SASS!" Someone screamed and I snapped back to reality, however my eyes never left the direction of that mouth watering sent. 

" Come one, we really need to get you home." A females voice, um Lucia? Yea that was it. She was pulling me away from that smell and i wanted to kick her. But i knew i couldn't follow it. I forced myself to comply and walk away. Just living with the hope that i may meet whoever that smell belongs to.

Lucias POV

"Arthur she needs to be more careful. HE scened a shift in presence tonight he could feel she was here. We are just lucky Luke found her first." I tell Arthur 

" Is it really her?' My twin brother whispered. " Cause she looked completely different when she was little." 

" Idiot she has a disguise on. Theo and Bella? Silver bloods? Does it ring any bells?" 

" Ooh, right" 

" Yea idiot." 

" Look Luke Lucia its not going to be long until he works it out or she does. When that happens we are all dead meat. " 

" Why are we even keeping her from him!" Luke growls. 

" Because, you know very very well why. She has him wrapped around her slimy little finger and where he goes she follows. We cannot put her and her family in Danger like that." I hiss at my brother. 

" Look tonight was a close call we cannot afford anymore of those right?" 

" agreed." Answered me and Luke. 

And so i did. But then again i was still taking Stella to the Ball, in secret of corse and lets just see how things Unravel. Hopefully I can do this right and cause no damage.
