The Queen of Stars

Chapter 29

" Baby how are you! We haven't spoken in so long." She said in a cherry sort of tone, she obviously didn't pick up on my own angry tone. 

" Hasn't your little watch dog been keeping you updated?" I hissed through the phone, when i get no reply i continue." You never told me who he was mum. You kept me from him just like you keep me from everything. I know your trying to protect my but you never stopped and asked me or even looked to see how all of it was effecting me." 

" When did you meet him?" a softly silent reply. 

" My birthday which by the way you didn't call me to wish me a very happy day." 

" I havnt been able to reach you Stella! The only trace we have had for you in months is when you gave Max and Mason your phone number just the other day." 

" Im sorry that somebody kept me from seeing my mate, the world and now i have to catch up on lost time." I bark at her. 

" Look baby girl i'm so sorry but i was doing it to protect you. They have people everywhere and she is always watching over him. I couldnt risk him taking you while she was still hanging around him like a shadow. They want you Stella and there was no way i was going to give in to their treats." 

Now i was just confused. " What on earth are you talking about mum!" 

" I have to go Stella but you have to be careful alright? Please be careful for me?" 

" Mum whats going on!?"

" Please!" 

" Alright fine but mum-" 

But the line went dead. 

I took a deep breath as confusion floated through me. What the heck was that?

I could hear the clanking of swords not too far off and i knew that i had the right place. 

I had been pondering what my mother said for a whole week and at the breakfast table this morning. It was good that i had something to keep my mind away from my Sodale and his beloved, even if i was again obsession over a small riddle. Looking at them left a sour taste in my mouth so instead i engaged in conversation with Luke who i hadn't seen in a while. I also texted Seb a smile gracing my lips a couple of times and i could feel my mates intence gaze on me. That seemed to make me smile even more. 

But now i had to turn my gaze to something else, training. It has helped me in the past and right now i feel that i need the distraction with yet another riddle to solve. Everything was in front of me last time Lucia gave me that riddle, i was just too blind and nieve to see it. But now i'm not so sure. Its as if life is pulling me through a series of tests to see if i'm worthy enough for this world... i wonder what my prize is? 

I turn the corner of the castle and set my sights on the field grinning from ear to ear. The smell of blood and sweat and grass filled my nose and i sighed with relief, i needed this. I needed to kick something and hard. 

I had on my training sports bra and shorts because i am going to be here for a while and its starting to get really hot. checking that my laces of my sneakers were still done up i wall through the tall gates leading to the open field. 

Lycans, both male and female stood battling each other in pairs sweat clinging to their bodies. Thank god non of their beast's are lurking because i really don't want to be there when that happens, it usually ends in a bloodbath. 

" Stella!" 

A figure in the distant catches my eye, Seb. I grin and drop my bag containing a towel and spare change of clothes and run towards him. He catches me and lifts me into a hug twirling me around. I laugh and a scene of peace washes over me, its calming and strange.
