War was coming....
The words ring through my mind, making me want to scream at the top of my lungs and crumble to the floor. However I keep my face calm, bland and I force myself to keep walking forwards. I didn't want to turn and look back at the hospital because i knew that the fact that I was there in a peaceful slumber while my peoples worlds were crumbling around me, it would cut me like a knife.
Buildings were crumbling, houses trashed. World slurred in blood painted across windows and signs- I just wished they weren't impossible to read. I just wondered what sort of power would be strong enough to do some much damage to a Lycan territory. One where royals slept. This very Island was made as a protection for them so to get in unnoticed and attack would be almost impossible, almost. I mean they seemed to of done a pretty good job, and they got away with it too.
The streets seemed almost deserted. Not a single soul in sight. It was hard to think of a Lycan of all beasts being frightened of this unknown threat. Lycan's alone were built fearless, beautiful and strong. They ruled kingdoms and species making sure all was right and they did so with a cold furious passion. It was hard to think of them curdling up into fear, heart beat quickening, palms sweating- being completely and utterly terrified. I guess i'm over exaggerating.
I reach out and clasp Lucians hand, letting the sparks that shoot up my arms and his sent calm me. The spark shot right to Lucians mark, that was now explosions and swirls of silver ink. I would one day be a Lycan, once the final part of mating is complete. I look over at my mate, at thought of mating I manage a smirk and he raises his eyes in question. He must think I'm Insane to be thinking of something so delicious at a time like this.
Suddenly Lucian stops beside me making me jolt back, I gasp as I go tumbling backwards. Luckily he catches me, pulling me into his warm embrace. I peer up at him, only to find his gaze was deadly, fixed on something straight ahead. I followed his gaze to the wall of the warehouse where I brought my dress and mask for the mascerade ball, all these moons ago. Somehow amongst all the damage, this had been left pretty much untouched... except-
A huge hit of deja vu hits me.
Two symbols were painted in blood, one was the symbol of a lycan, the great beast encaptured in a circle, this one however had slashes through it. As if it had been ruled out. My head is spinning, whirling around making me feel dizzy.
"Titus! Wait up" I call breathlessly, my tiny hands reaching out trying to catch him.
I rip myself away from Lucians arms as the memory hits me like a hurricane.
Where had Titus gone? Something was wrong, everybody was hiding... just where are they? The earth was being disrupted.... earth, the sister to our beloved moon was angry. I could feel her rage. Something inhuman was here and they were hungry. A loud crash sounded from further on down the corridor. I was hardly standing, my whole body had been possessed by fear. I took slowly steps, venturing further down the darkened hallway. I couldn't remember where the safety spaces were, it had fled my mind. Another crash this time from close behind me. My whole body tenses, I feel like crying. I just want my mummy and daddy.
A sillioute is standing in the distance, but I have only noticed it now. It's female. Their hair seems to be black and smoke is rising from all around them. Behind her is a symbol, painted boldly in blood. It's the mark of a rebel. Walking closer I see that same tattoo inked on the girls skin.
The girl is muttering under her breath causing everything around me to break or go flying aginst the walls. A harsh wind has swooped in and is blinding me. All this power is causing the Harold vains to swell a Smokey black colour. All I can do is stand there and watch in fright and it doesn't take long for the world to drain black.
That mark. The rebels mark of revenge. How come I'm only just remembering all this? Leah... she had dark vains, black smoke was devouring her. She felt dangerous- she always has. She's no witch.
I could feel Lucian plucking at our bond, begging me to look at him and give him some sort of recognition. I know he saw all of that, were connected now. He tells me that he had never once seen Leah do magic, ever. Witches can be very private with their magic, spells and mixtures so I guess it's easy to think it was just that, it's not like Leah is a very open person.
No, she's just a high witch who turned to dark magic. The most dangerous type of witch, I assume that the witches council turned their back of her and stripped her of her magic, I mean it's what makes the most sense.
I squeeze my mates hand reassuringly. All these memories of being captured all those years ago come flooding back to me.
" the rebels took me because I was the daughter of a powerful Alpha who was soon to be king." I whispered to my mate. " but their still trying to get me because I'm a silver blood. They figured it out.... I was suppose to just be a myth."
I remember Ava's words to me that night deep within the woods. My parents wanted it that way for a reason, they knew all this was coming and they didn't want me or any of my siblings to have to live with all that fear.
"Shhhh darling, were just going to do a tiny spell on you alright." The strange lady whispered. She had halls staked with strange mixtures and herbs. I wondered if she was going to make me take any of them. She didn't. Instead she strapped me to the table and stripped my memories of my kidnaping. I scream if I'm agonising pain, begging them to stop but nobody did anything.
I woke up the next day with a humongous headache and no memory of how I got it.
"Why now? Why put a time limit of the magic, she could of erased it for good." Lucian asks, looking deep into my eyes. He seemed just as fearful and confused as I was.
" because, were Silver Bloods." I reply.
I force myself to look back to the symbols painted in blood. Only my eyes seem to keep going back to the words written under them.
Silver blood had been carved into the wall. The edges sharp and rough. I looked like somebody had thrown and axe at the carving. Somebody was angry, lots and lots of people were angry.
The moon gave us power to protect the balance of nature, to keep all safe. But there has to be something to balance us out. An evil so vile and hungry for war. That it's willing to destroy anything and anybody in their path to get it.
They have already done too much damage. If it's a war that will end this, then let it begin.
