We got home a week ago and I was honestly a bit relieved. Ash and i just wanted to sit and relax but we couldn't because we had time go baby shopping and set up the nursery which was set up across the Hall from us until the kids were older. Juniper wanted to throw a baby shower but we decided against the idea because ash and I simply have enough time either and I just didn't feel like having a baby shower. It was a genuine offer and I felt bad but I just couldn't.
Ash and I were currently in the nursery painting the walls a light purple, seeing that purple could never used for both genders. I wore a pair of old shorts and a over sized tank top. I stood on a ladder in the corner of the room with paper, paint cans and tray, boxes of baby stuff, tools from assembling the crib, car seats and strollers, and other baby stuff laid on the floor.
I looked over at Ash who was painting the while, wiping the sweat off of his head. I smiled and continued on my task as Berlin laid in the corner passed out.
"Hey Mama, I'm going to go run to the store real quick to get more paint" Ashley said. I looked at him and nodded
"Alright. But hurry, I don't know vhat time Luke and everyone is getting here" I said
"I'll hurry as fast as I can" Ashland before he pecked my lips and walked out of the room. Luke didn't know I was pregnant so it was going to be a huge surprise to him when he saw. I continued to my task at hand and continued on painting. Then my phone vibrated. Sighing I stopped and got off the latter seeing Luke texted, along with Grandma Purdy
Luke: hey so we'll be at your house in a couple of minutes. And we ended up bringing someone else along
Me: ok, the doors unlocked. If not a key should be under the mat. I left it there for Opal to use to feed the animals
Luke: alright
I looked at the text from grandma Purdy
Grandma Purdy: hey sweetie. Marcy, jake and I are coming to stop by and see you and Ash. We will see you in a few minutes. Can't wait to see you again
I smiled. I didn't know of Ashley had told any of them if I was pregnant of not, but we were about to find out in a few minutes
Me: I can't wait to see you guys it's been to long
I segment my phone down and finished up painting my large section of the wall before putting it away and walking out of the room, shutting the door a bit ajar behind me. I kept on my shorts bit changed out of my shirt into a more appropriate, but slightly body clinging Slipknot tank top.
I walked into the kitchen to get myself a glass of water when I head the door open
"Anubis I'm here. Vhere are you? " Luke called. I heard someone whistle
"This is where your sister lives? " I heard a female voice ask. The same one when Luke had called and said he was coming over
"This house is beautiful" A second voice said, one not as preppy and as high pitched as the last one.
"In the kitchen" I said as I leaned on the counter taking a long sip of my drink. Luke walked in first, to girls on either side of him. One looked like Tiffany but with bitchy like make up, not clown make up and the second girl was around Luke's height with long flowing honey gold hair and light amber colored eyes. She was skinny and well tan, I liked her more then the girl who was all over Luke, maybe it was because she had that smart aura around her like I had
"Look at you, you've gotten more tattoos" Luke said as he looked at me smiling. I got off the counter and walked around as Luke went to give me a hug. He stopped dead in his tracks as his eyes widened and his jaw dropped. He looked at me, a smile growing on his stocked face
"You're pregnant?! " He exclaimed happily. I nodded and smiled
"You're about to be a uncle " I said. Luke just looked at me before carefully giving me a hug
"Vow, this is amazing, I'm going to be a uncle. Congrats I'm so happy for you it great news. But vhen did this happen? Vhen vere you going to tell me? Do you kno-" Luke asked before I cut him off. He mumbled a sorry "oh shit that's right I forgot you were pregnant"
"Chill Luke. Ashley and I found out the day before my birthday. I vas planning on telling you in person. They're twins" I said. Luke looked up
"... Twins? " He said. I nodded.
"Astrid Rose Purdy and Dean Michael Purdy" I said beaming. Luke had the biggest smile on his face
"This is just absolutely amazing" He said. Then he quickly pushed it aside "oh I forgot to introduce you to my friend Isabella. She's a major in Engineering" Luke said as he pointed to the tall honey gold hair girl. I smiled and shook her hand.
"It's so nice to meet you, I hear a lot of things from Luke about you" Isabella said "and you can call new bella"
"It's nice to meet you too. I hope Luke hasn't said awful things about me" I said laughing.
"No he hasn't. Do you go to college?"
"Online for Egyptology and Astronomy" I said
"Wow that's impressive. I'm thinking about switching my major over to Arts and Humanities" She said
"And this is my girlfriend Rebecca" Luke said as he wrapped his arm around the other girl. I looked at her as she gave me a fake and unconvincing 'I'm glad to be here' smile.
"It's so good to meet my boyfriends sister" She said "Anubis right? "
"Yes" I said as I looked at her oddly
"Can I borrow your bathroom? " She asked.
"I don't know can you? " I asked
"Really? " Luke asked as he looked at me.
"Yes really" I said as I looked over at Rebecca. She looked confused
"Ohhh... Sorry, may I go to the bathroom" She said. I nodded
" its in the Hall, first door on the left." I answered. I watched as Rebecca walked, more like strutted towards the bathroom. I rolled my eyes "and I need to start dinner. I need to text grandma Purdy and see if she's eating with us"
Me: are you eating dinner with us?
Grandma Purdy: sure, we're almost there
"Do you need help? " Bella asked. I smiled softly
"If you don't mind. Ashley usually helps me but he's at the store right " I said. I grabbed the beans, stuff for salad, chicken, and Cole slaw.
"What do you want me to start on?" Bella asked
"Hmmm... Can you make Cole slaw? " I asked. She nodded and started right away and I looked as Luke Sat down at the counter.
"Sooo..... Vhat do you think of Rebecca? " Luke asked nervously as he bit his lip. I looked at him as I started to open the beans
"Besides being a slut" Bella said under her breath quickly as she covered it up with a cough. I bit back a laugh
"You really vant me to answer that question? Because ve all know vhat I'm going to say and you aren't going to like it" I said.
"Come on, give her a chance. She's a beautiful, amazing person" Lupe said.
"Do you not see the vay she's dressed, and you know vhat else? She looks like the girls you dated after the vhole juniper fiasco. She also looks like Tiffany and don't forget our vas shoved in front of a truck because of that" I said. He looked at me
"I know, I remember that. But give her time to prove herself it vould really mean a lot to me" He pleaded. I sighed
"Fine.a veek at the most" I said
"Vhat? Vhy not a month? " Luke asked, almost protestingly.
"You asked me to give her a chance and I am despite everything telling me no. A veek is enough time, I set my limit you should be grateful" I said as I glared at him.
"Right" He said softly. I grabbed my phone and turned on the blue tooth and turned my music on. I looked at Isabella
" I hope you don't mind, I listen to music to help me concentrate sometimes " I said she looked at me and smiled.
"No need to worry about it, you're fine" She said as Mz. Hyde by Halestorm came on. It was only a few minutes later that I heard Berlin and icy barking playfully as Jakes giggly laugh echoed off the walls
"Aunt Anubis" He squealed happily as he ran around the corner his eyes bright as he ran towards me.
"Whoah jake, chill out we just got here" I heard Marcy say as her and grandma walked in "he's been excited all day"
"Hey bud how have you been? " I asked as he hugged me. He looked at me and smiled
"I'm in second grade now" He said happily "why is your stomach big? "
"Jake" Grandma gasped "that's not polite"
"What do you mean her stomachs big? " Marcy asked. I blushed in embarrassment, i guess they didn't know.
"Come look" Jake said before both grandma Purdy and Marcy walked behind the counter before both their eyes widened, both of them just staring at me and my stomach
"Hehe... Surprise" I said nervously.
"When we're you going to tell us? " Marcy asked
"I thought Ashley had told you guys" I answered
"I am going to kick that kids ass" Grandma Purdy said jokingly "this is fantastic, I'm going to have great grand kids now"
"How far are you? " Marcy asked.
"Four months"
"Only four, you look bigger then that" Marcy said. I grinned.
"Twins" I said. Both of their jaws dropped
"... Twins... " Grandma Purdy said softly. I nodded
"Do you love them? " Jake asked as he grabbed my hand and yanked on it
"Careful" Marcy said
"Very much" I said
"If you loved them then why did you eat them? " Jake asked. I bursted out in pure laughter along with every one else
"No.... No I didn't eat them sweetie" I said as I wiped the tears running down my face. Grandma Purdy walked over and hugged me tightly as I hugged back
"I'm so happy for you dear. Kids are the greatest thing in this world, you'll be a fantastic mother" She said as she left go of me. I smiled
"Thank you" I said.
"May I? " Marcy asked. I shook my head
"Of course not" I said. She gently placed her hand on my stomach. Her face light up as one of the babies kicked.
"Hey baby girl I'm back. Is Aunt Marcy here, her trucks out front" Ashley called out. Jake smiled before he ran towards Ashley and grabbed his legs as Ashley stood in the living room and chuckled "hey buddy what's up? "
"I missed you and I'm in second grade " Jake said happily.
"That's awesome" Ashley said as he gave jake a high five. Ashley looked up and went still as Grandma Purdy looked at him seriously. I bit back a laugh. "What? "
"Why did you tell us you and Anubis were having twins? " She asked.
"Ohhh that" Ashley said chuckling as he scratched the back of his neck " I did mean to tell you about that"
"Oh I'm sure that you did" Marcy said, causing both of us to laugh
"Aunt Anubis can I go color? " Jake asked. I nodded
"Of course. The paper and crayons are in the library in your shelf" I said.
"This I life changing news I'm going to be a great grandma" Grandma Purdy said as Ashley walked over
"It must have slipped my mind, a lot happened during tour" Ashley said
"That's right. Eva died, that's so sad" Luke said. I stiffened at Eva's name and so did Ashley.
"I'm guessing something happened between y'all before she died" Marcy said. I cleared my throat and changed the topic
"So is Greta staying at Danielle's? " I asked Ashley. He shook his head
"Yea I guess she has a project she has to finish" Ashley answered. I just nodded and continued to cook while chatting with everyone and dealing with Ashley's teasing. In all honesty I liked Isabella more then I liked Rebecca.
Isabella was smart, practical, funny, sweet and kind. She in my opinion was way better for Luke then Rebecca who was downright rude and snobby in general. Eventually dinner was made and we all ate, laughing and talking loudly just enjoying the company as grandma Purdy and Marcy started talking about baby stuff. I zoned out after a while, not even paying attention at in point.
After dinner Ashley had cleaned up as I had played some sort of hand game Jake learned with Jake. After a while they went home as Isabella helped my feed and take care of coco and shadow when I noticed something was off with her, she was.... Sad
"Vhats wrong? " I asked her as I poured pays into Shadow's trough.
"It's nothing" She said trying to brush it off. I looked at her
"I know something is vrong. You cam tell me anything" I said. She sighed
"I really really like Luke, more then friends. I want him to be happy because it makes me happy but Rebecca just isn't the one for him at all. I've tried explaining that to him but he just won't listen. It's so hard " She said. I looked at her
"I know the feeling, Luke has always been hard headed growing up. In all honesty I would prefer if you vere dating Luke then Rebecca because you are so much better them her by a lot. Luke doesn't know vhats best for him even though he thinks he does but it does take home a vhile to open his eyes and see vhats going on around him. It's only a matter of time before Rebecca does something stupid and leave Luke or the other vay around and I have a feeling that day is soon. But I vould tell him how you feel now before its too late despite how scary it may seem"
"Thanks" She said beaming "you're better at this them my friends are"
"Vell i am married to my first and only boyfriend since senior year in high school. I picked up a few things" I said
"Damn" She said. I chuckled as I petted Shadow before we headed inside telling jokes and just getting to know each other better. Of course Luke and Rebecca we're both making out, her on top of him as his hands slowly started going up. I could tell that Isabella was annoyed and hurt at the scenario and I felt bad for her. Ashley was passed out on the couch, his head buried in one of the red throw pillows.
I smiled and walked over to him, gently moving some of the hair out of his face as his chest rose and fell. I didn't blame him today was a long day for the both of us. I gently kissed his forehead as I pulled one of the hello kitty blankets over him.
"(1) gute Nacht Outlaw. süße Träume" I said sweetly. Ashley muttered something under his breath quietly.
"He's so cute" Isabella said. I laughed quietly as I looked at her
"Definitely " I said. Suddenly I felt my phone vibrate and I grabbed it
Taylor S: hey, I had a great time at warped Tour... Although the tattoos are still here. We should hang out again, I had an absolute blast
Me: that would be great. Just let me know when and where and I'll tell you if I'm busy or not.
Taylor S: ok, I was hoping maybe sometime next week like Tuesday or Wednesday
Me: that should work, I'll just have to run a few errands that day but we can hang out then
Taylor S: ok. I'll see you then
I smiled and put my phone away before I looked back at Isabella.
"Since those two are at it, do you know if you're staying here or leaving? " I asked. She just shrugged
"I have no idea. I mean class doesn't start until Wednesday so we have a few days off. Knowing these too we won't leave until tomorrow morning" She said.
No sooner then she had said that Rebecca and Luke had got up and ran towards the back to one of the rooms. I sighed
"Time to turn on the TV" I said as I sat down next to Ashley's sleeping head, my hand gently laying in his hair as I pulled the blanket on me "vant to join? "
"Why not I have nothing better to do" She said as she sat down. I turned on the TV and that's what we did the rest of the night, blocking out Luke and Rebecca as best as we could. At one point Ashley had moved up some, his head now on my chest and one arm across my lap as he curled up into my side. He mumbled under his breath which was cute. I couldn't understand a lot of what he was saying but my name had come out a few times.
Now I had something on Ashley, I just wished that I had my camera out so I could show him. It was only far, after everything he had done to embarrass me like my habit of fidgeting with my shirt or my habit of blushing a lot. Silly reasons but this was Ashley we were talking about and I couldn't help but love my lovable dork
