Prayer for Happiness

Happiness: the lovely word

For which solace I thank the Lord.

Since the time when I was young,

My happiness was never bound.

I had the gift of freedom

Which is enjoyed by only some.

For that sweet sound, thank you Lord;

I never heard a dismal chord.

I ask now, forgive me Lord,

Can this warmth in my heart be stored?

I do want to share this love;

Let others touch the sky above.

I wish to share happiness,

To touch and warm a heart's sadness,

To reach out to the ones in grief,

To wipe their tears and bring relief.
