Reigniting the Flames

Upon the roads I walk with ease,

I dream of long lost melodies;

Of things once yearned for, all sublime;

Which cannot be embalmed in rhyme.

And while I journeyed on, my heart

Did pulse for that harmonic part

When all my thoughts were running free

And all my dreams were there to see.

I’ve lost them all while on this path…

They were the price, the aftermath.

Bereft of those, I wonder how

I went on with the undertow.

Heartless, mindless, mad and cruel…

Only wrath to serve as fuel.

But as I look up at the sky,

While thinking that all good things die,

There in my soul burst forth a spark

So blazing hot; light in the dark.

For I have seen a glitt’ring angel,

Robed all in white, with leaves of myrtle.

With one chaste kiss, and one small touch

I was renewed, and felt so much.

And all those things I lost before,

Amid the stars, I saw them soar.

So with a courage, fresh and new

I reaffirmed the mission: true.
