 "I'm through accepting limits

'cause someone says they're so

Some things I cannot change --

But, till I try, I'll never know.

Too long I've been afraid

Of losing love I guess I've lost.

Well, if that's love...

It comes at much too high a cost!"

~Defying Gravity, Wicked (Broadway Musical)

Defying Gravity

So many things I thought I want;

So many dreams now lying dormant...

So many rules, but none were true;

They were but visions changing hue.

They've always said that I can't fly,

That it is vain to even try.

They won't believe me when I say

That if I will, I'll find a way.

Perhaps they can't envision how

I'd spread my wings to taste it now.

Hope still remains, dreams can be found

When we break free from where we're bound.

It's true that all are meant to fall,

But why not try to scale the wall?

Who knows that once we took our flight

We'll reach a new and greater height?

Perchance we'll find a place where we

Are not obscured by gravity --

A realm where we shall freely fly,

Where our dear wishes do not die.
