Soondeok's diary

RELEASE! Yes! The doctor just came over today and he said that I'm all well now! I can finally leave this room for the first time in ages! I wish Eun was here, I miss him. Well, it's been 2 months since we moved here – Eun grandpa's winter residence up in the mountains, and as soon as I settled down, Eun left. He went to find Yixing, I'm told, he said he'll try to find medicine for me. I know he loves me, but I can't help but miss him heaps, especially when I'm in pain. Luckily, my period this month is over, meaning I'll be free from it for many days until the next! I want to ride, I want to ride so badly, it's like I can hear the mountains calling me out. Hope Eun will return soon, what if something happens to him? Oh man! I hope he'll be alright.

Mother's been worried about me, I think she knows of my illness by now, but I'm glad she's been so supportive. In my darkest times, when Eun's not by my side, she's there to comfort me. She's back to the capital now, I miss her already.

Spending all day in the room is too suffocating for me, I'll go out now – as winter is just around the corner, I'd like to ride around and maybe, if I'm lucky, I can see some bears strolling about. I just love the sound of leaves crunching under the hooves of my trotting horse.

'My lady!'

(Maid comes running)

'My lady! You shouldn't be out here. It's cold and you're not well-'

'I'm alright, Young-ah. I need some fresh air.'

'But-'

'Any news from the prince yet? When will he be back?'

'I...I'm not sure, my lady.'

'Oh well...where's the stable? I want to ride out today.'

'But My lady!'

'Trust me, I'm fine. You don't have to bring me there, just tell me where it is.'

'It's...it's over there behind the well. You sure you're alright, my lady?'

'Yes yes yes, I'm pretty sure. Thanks!'
