-Zadie's Room-
Zadie's POV:

It was getting closer and closer to the end of summer, which meant the start of college. And yeah, I still had no idea where I was gonna go. I'd pretty much completely given up on Northwestern which was fine, but it left me with only a few options. Quite frankly, it sucked.

"Zadie...." Delta whined, barging into my room and falling face forward onto my bed next to me as I was sitting up, deciding whether or not I should email the Northwestern admissions office.

"What's your deal?"

"I don't wanna go to college."

I put aside my laptop, "what? Why? I thought you had just finish getting all of your dorm stuff."

"I have. But I'm still trying to get out of the Caitlin roommate situation."

I scoffed, "that can't be the only thing that's bothering you."

Delta sighed, "okay, no. I don't know if I'm ready to leave everyone. I mean, you, Adam, Leo, Bree, Chase. My family, Tasha. It just feels wrong."

"Del, you've been wanting to go to LSU for your whole life. You have family there, and we all have phones, and cars, and Davenport has a secret jet. You're acting like we won't see each other ever again."

"But my sister said usually what happens is that the people you meet in college are the people who are gonna stick with you."

"Yeah, usual. Have you met any of us? I think it's safe to say that we're definitely not the typical group of friends."

"I guess you're right."

Bree opened the door to my room, "hey, come on, we're gonna be late for training."

Training went on as usual. Everyone worked on their skills while Delta and I sat and talked the whole time. "I'm here. I'm here." Bob jogged in with his bed hair.

"Bob, you're late again." Chase told him.

"It's not my fault I overslept. It's Bree's."

Bree looked to us, then back to Bob, "What? How is it my fault?"

"You keep showin' up in my dreams." He flirted. Okay. Ew.

The second weird thing of the day was the two Davenport's scuffling and giggling into the training room. "What's up with you two? Someone ask you to prom?" Leo joked.

"No....but thanks for opening up old wounds." Douglas glared.

"After countless hours of research and development, Douglas and I have finally perfected the most amazing bionic operating system upgrade ever." Davenport celebrated.

Bob groaned, "I woke up for this?"

"Honestly, same though." I mumbled to Bree.

Douglas smiled, "This upgrade is gonna be like going from motor scooters to jet engines. It'll make all of your abilities ten times more powerful."

"Nice!"

"Except yours." Douglas pointed to me.

"An upgrade, huh?" Leo put his hands on his hips. "Well, I'm not sure you can make my leg any more powerful, but go ahead, give it a go." He kicked the air.

"Sorry, Leo. The upgrade only works on people with a bionic chip. Be grateful you have a bionic arm and a bionic leg. That's all you're getting....or at least until your next horrific accident." Davenport laughed with Douglas and Leo.

Of course leave it to my boyfriend to question everything. "Mr. Davenport, are you sure that this new upgrade is safe? I mean, some of our students haven't even mastered their bionics at the current level."
