Chapter 8

Narrator: Erika was up early. She got up quietly and put a robe on. She let Jake sleep and went downstairs. Deep in her thoughts she wondered if maybe she let Jake off to easily. But she's glad he didn't leave, they needed this. It had been so many weeks, she missed him. If they were going to be together she knew they had a lot of repairing to do.

Jake woke up and noticed Erika wasn't next to him. He got up and put his boxers on. He quickly went to find her and saw her looking outside. He went behind her and wrapped his arms around her.

Jake: Good morning beautiful
Erika: Good morning
Jake: are you okay?
Erika: Yeah just pondering a lot
Jake: I noticed, can I take you out to breakfast?
Erika: Sure I'll go get ready and meet you
Jake: Alright babe

Narrator: Jake grabbed his stuff and forgot one last thing. He ran back into Erika's room and gave her a long kiss. She blushed and he ran out.
Jake gets home and rushes to get ready, on his way out gets stopped by Nick.

Nick: where were you last night?
Jake: Handling something that needed to be fixed
Nick: like what? The only thing you should be fixing is your relationship with Erika. Maybe you don't need to be together but at least fix the friendship.
Jake: you don't need to worry about that anymore *smirks*
Nick: Jake?! You were with her last night?
Jake: I never said anything. I gotta go, I'll see you later

Narrator: He rushes out the door and goes to the cafe they agreed to meet at. Erika joined him and they ordered breakfast. They couldn't stop smiling at each other, he reached for her hand and gave her a kiss.

Jake: Idk what it is that you do to me
Erika: *laughs* I don't know what you mean Mr. Paul
Jake: You should know I never stopped caring for you while you were not in my life. No one knows this but I actually had tabs on you.
Erika: Jake what the hell!!
Jake: what! It's not like you noticed
Erika: What the hell! Who even agreed to do that?
Jake: Some guy who specializes in private investigating
Erika: I can't believe you!!
Jake: Don't be mad babe
Erika: I'm just annoyed.
Narrator: He reaches over and gives her a kiss on the cheek.
Erika: You're lucky I love you
Jake: I'm lucky I have you
Erika: Kiss ass
Jake: Will you give me another chance?
Erika: Well...
Jake: what?
Erika: this morning I was wondering whether I should or not. I mean did i give in too easily? We slept together last night, I feel a little stupid for doing that.
Jake: hey hey..you are not stupid!! If that's how you feel then I won't pressure you. And I'll leave you be. Just tell me now if that's what you want
Narrator: She didn't answer. She just looked at him. Jake became sad, and decided to leave. He paid and left to his car. He went straight home. Erika felt bad, her mind and her heart were at war. She wanted him to stay with her and she wanted to give him another chance but her mind told her not to. That she would get hurt again. She got up and called Tessa but she didn't answer. She then decided to call Kade. He answered and they were going to meet and go shopping.

The Grove
1 PM

Kade: You okay Rik?
Erika: No..not really
Kade: Jake?
Erika: Yeah
Kade: talk to me, I'm here for you
Erika: Yesterday he found me and we talked. He heard what I had to say and how upset I was with him. He felt so sorry and told me he missed me in his life. He kissed me and I felt the spark I was missing. After the event he came over and we argued a little. He told me he wanted to fight for me and I gave in. But I felt like I needed him. I missed his kisses and his touch and his smell. I needed him. I want to give him another chance but my mind and my heart gave me torn.
Kade: Wow, that's a lot to take in but I'm going to be honest
Erika: Please
Kade: I do think you gave in by sleeping with him. But I'm glad you guys talked. You both are a lot happier when you're together. Relationships always have ups and downs but what matters is you work it out and become stronger. Learning to not make the same mistake again and be happy.
Erika: So I should give him another chance?
Kade: I can't make that decision for you! You have to decide. What I will say is I support you no matter what.
Erika: Thanks Kade. You're such a great friend, I hope you and Jake can solve the issues
Kade: Yeah time will tell. I was really mad at him but now I just feel sorry. He's trying his best with you and that's a great start
Erika: Yeah..well let's keep shopping, that's always a good distraction

Narrator: They went to many stores and ended up buying so many things. Meanwhile Jake was upset but he had to put on a poker face and handle some important meetings.

A few hours later Nick and Jake were going over reports. When Jake received a call from Kevin who was in New York. He got Jake a big interview and needed him to fly out immediately. Jake packed his bags and took an Uber to LAX. Erika decided she would go to Jake and tell him she wanted to be with him. But by the time she got there Nick told her he left on a business trip and was not sure when he would be back. She was disappointed, she had him waiting and now she couldn't tell him. She wanted to tell him in person and not over the phone. She left and went back to her house to find Kelly and Lo waiting for her.

Kelly: Erika get dressed we're going out tonight
Erika: Guys I really don't want to
Lo: Come on it's ladies night
Erika: ugh fine! Only for a little

Narrator: Erika went upstairs, she did her hair and makeup. Then she put on a cute crop and mini skirt and heels. They all headed out together and went to a night lounge. They ended up meeting Kade, Chance and Tony there. Amanda, Nick, Chad and Tessa met them there a little bit later. Everyone was having a good time dancing and having some drinks.

It wasn't until a later when Nick got a notification on his phone and looked at Kade. Erika came over and asked them if everything was okay. Nick handed her his phone and her smile went away. It was an article some paparazzi got pictures of Jake and some girl going to dinner looking very cozy together in New York. Her mind was racing, it was probably the alcohol making her thoughts cloudy but she was hurting. How could jake move on so quickly? She took more shots to numb the pain and danced some more. She was definitely wasted and everyone knew. Everyone knew it was time to go before Erika would make a scene. They all got back to the Team 10 house. Kade and Tony took her upstairs and put her on Jake's bed.

Tony: Bro what did you guys show her?
Kade: It was Nick. They got photos of Jake on a date
Tony: Wtf is he doing! She's hurting
Kade: I know. We gotta keep an eye on her who knows what she would do...
