Chapter 30

1 year later

Narrator: Jake and Erika had been happily married for a little over a year now. Their marriage was going great! Both their careers were at a high point.

Today they had plans to celebrate their anniversary and Jake wanted to make sure everything would be perfect. The only problem was he had meetings all day and wouldn't be able to spend time with her until later around dinner time.
He said goodbye to Erika and went out to his truck. Erika was getting ready to workout, yes she was doing really well with her career. Her swim shoot a couple months back really motivated her but she needed to make sure her figure would stay the same through out all times.

A few hours later she had finished her workout and decided to meet up with Nick for some lunch and now that he had his car it was perfect. She walked next door and they left.

Nick: So Erika since Jake is working right now I plan to make your anniversary fun on behalf of him.
Erika: Haha Nick, you don't have to. I told him I understand
Nick: I'm actually quite shock
Erika: What can I say.. I'm not the average wifey
Nick: Yeah clearly
Erika: Should I be offended?
Nick: No! Not at all, it's great. Makes you a lot more special.

Narrator: They arrived to a cafe and sat outside. Erika really enjoyed Nick's company, she truly valued his friendship. He's always there for her when others weren't or when things were tough with her and Jake's marriage. She only hoped he could find someone to make him happy. After a while they drove back home and hung out at the Team 10 mansion before she needed to go back home and get ready for dinner.

Jake was at his last conference but it didn't seem like it would end anytime soon. He was still upset Kevin had booked all of them on this day, well actually no this week. His original plan was to take Erika to see her family back in Nashville. He knows she misses them a lot, but that would have to get pushed back 2 weeks from now.

Erika left and walked to her house. She made it inside and noticed the office light on, she became excited and ran straight in..

Erika: Babe you're home early!
Christian: Hey sweetheart, did you miss me?
Erika: What the hell are you doing in my house?! How did you get in here?!
Christian: Have a seat, lets catch up.
Erika: No I want you out of my house, I will call security.
Christian: SIT YOUR ASS DOWN
Narrator: Erika froze when he yelled at her but she managed to sit down in front of him.
Christian: Thank you, I hate having to yell at you but you just wouldn't listen.
Erika: Christian please, get out.
Christian: I bet you're wondering why I'm here or where I've been right?
Erika: Not really, I just want you to leave.
Christian: Why don't you understand that you need to be with me! I love you and I would give you everything. Jake could never
Erika: He's going to be home soon and he will not be happy to see you here!
Christian: You and I both know I have a lot of power and connections to end your little hubby's life.
Erika: Leave us alone! I never did anything to you
Christian: Yes you did! You gave him a chance and broke up with me without a valid reason
Erika: You're sick! You're obsessed!
Christian: I will leave but you're going to do as I say.
Erika: I WILL NOT
Christian: You will! Unless you want me to call the hit on Jake right now.
Erika: What do you want from me?
Christian: I want you, but I want to earn your love. I have a dinner in Boston next month and I want you to go as my date.
Erika: Are you crazy!
Christian: I'll be back tomorrow and the next day to see you. Do not ruin your chance if you really want to protect Jake. And do not cross me Erika because I won't hesitate to kill you too. Goodbye my love, I'll see you soon.

Narrator: He got up and left through the back. She broke down crying feeling helpless. What is she going to do? She knows what he is capable of Jake told her a while back but she didn't think he would come back. It's been months since they last saw or heard of him.
She ran upstairs to shower and get ready, Jake would be home soon and she didn't want him to see her crying.

Jake arrived home and went to look for Erika. She was still in the shower with her eyes closed and her hands on the wall. She looked stressed or upset but he wasn't sure why.

Jake: Hey babe
Erika: Hey sorry just needed a shower, I'll be out soon.
Jake: Are you ok?
Erika: Yes I'm fine.
Jake: Ok well I'm going to shower in the other bathroom
Erika: Sounds good.

Narrator: Jake left feeling a little upset. This is the woman he loves and has been married to for a year now. He knows her more than he knows himself and something was not right.

Eventually they both finished getting ready and left to the restaurant they had reservations at. The whole night they laughed and smiled at each other but it wasn't the same. Jake knew something was wrong but he wasn't going to pressure her at that moment to tell him.

After dinner they stopped to get some frozen yogurt and went home. They arrived and went upstairs and to Erika's surprise there was roses shaped in a heart on the bed and a big box next to the bed. She looked and smiled at him, he nodded back and she opened the box to see a cute furry dog with big brown eyes staring at her. She grabbed the puppy and held her close she was in love with her. She thanked Jake and gave him a long kiss. Eventually things were getting intense so she set the puppy in the guest bedroom with all of her toys and bed that Jake had laying in the box. She ran back to her room and celebrated her anniversary with the man she loves, forgetting everything else in that moment.

Authors note: Hey everyone! Guess we can call this season 2 of It's Complicated. It's not going to be as long but it will definitely be filled with lots of surprises and drama.
So now that Christians back... what do you guys think of his threat? Should Erika tell Jake or keep quiet?
