Chapter 17

Narrator: Jake and Logan made it but they went to find Erika. Nick had said Erika would be at an important dinner with Joe. They met the driver and headed that way. After about 30 minutes they arrived. The madness started when Jake and Logan were swarmed with paparazzi. Camera flashes, and microphones in their face. The brothers fought their way inside. That's when Jake saw her across the room, she looked beautiful. She was socializing, and it seemed everyone around her was amused. Finally security came over and was able to get rid of the press, he walked closer and by this time Erika had seen him. She looked scared and he wasn't sure why. They were face to face and he just stared at her, his eyes wandered down to her arm. She was trying to cover it up, without saying anything he moved her arm and saw how swollen her wrists were. He looked back up at her and she looked down avoiding eye contact. Joe pulled Logan aside to give them some privacy.

Jake: Where is he?!
Erika: I don't know.
Jake: Erika you tell me right now! Do not protect that bastard!
Erika: I'm not protecting him but you're going to cause a scene, please no.
Jake: Is this why you have been avoiding me?
Erika: No..I've been working.
Jake: What happened and you tell me everything!
Erika: I can't...you'll go crazy
Jake: I'll go crazy right now if you don't tell me!
Erika: He was drunk, came to my room and tried to Well you know. But I fought him and ran out.
Jake: We're leaving.
Erika: Jake it's unprofessional for me to leave like that.
Jake: Joe! Let's go!

Narrator: Jake grabbed Erika and took her out. Joe and Logan followed, they got in the car. The ride was silent but Jake couldn't stay still he was furious.
They made it to the hotel and Jake wanted to see if Christian was still there. They go up to her room and he was gone. The scene was hard to look at. The bed was a mess and the sheets were ripped. The mirror was shattered and blood was on the floor.
Jake told Erika to pack her things, she don't want to argue and did as she was told. They walked to the lobby so Erika could check out. But Jake looked over to the bar and there he was. Without thinking Jake runs over and pulls him off the bar stool. He punches him over and over. There was blood everywhere and all over Christians face, his nose was broken and Jake had no mercy for him. Logan ran behind and pulled his brother off. The receptionist had called the cops and Jake was going to get arrested. Logan grabbed Erika's bags and they all ran out to the car to go to the airport.

Logan: Jake wtf! The laws are different here and not like back home
Jake: I don't give a fuck, he deserved that and more!
Logan: We need to leave immediately
Jake: Joe call Nick and have him get the jet ready
Logan: I can't believe you! You have a career to worry about and attempted murder on your list is not one of them!
Jake: He got what he deserved, I'll kill him if I see him again

Narrator: The rest of the ride was silent. Erika stayed quiet the whole time. Even on the flight back home. They eventually arrived to LA and Jake took Erika to the team 10 House. Everyone was asleep except Nick. He ran and hugged Erika tightly. He was already informed by Joe. He took her to his room so they could talk meanwhile Jake was still outside trying to catch his breath.

Logan: I'm sorry for freaking out on you but the last thing I wanted was my brother to get arrested and sent to prison. Especially in a different country
Jake: I know, I should've been more careful with my actions.
Logan: I'm going home but please just give her some time. She's in shock, don't pressure her and be supportive.
Jake: Thank you for the advice bro, I'll do my best
Logan: Love you Bro
Jake: Love you too

Narrator: Jake went inside and searched for Nick and Erika. He hears them upstairs and eavesdrop on their conversation

Nick: Erika, tell me the truth did he rape you?
Erika: No! I fought as much as I could. When he got up to take his pants off I kicked him in the balls and ran out.
Nick: Look at your arm I can't believe he would do that.
Erika: I just want to forget it and move on. I'm worried about Jake.
Nick: He needs you as much as you need him right now. He's been suffering without you, we all see it
Erika: Is he mad at me? I wasn't intentionally ignoring his calls, I was just busy working and sleeping most of the time.
Nick: You know he could never stay mad at you and even if he was it wouldn't be for long.
Erika: I guess I should go talk to him, we can catch up tomorrow right?
Nick: Yes, go ahead. I'm so happy you're safe and back with us. Love you Rik
Erika: Thank you, love you too Nick

Narrator: Jake runs to his room and stands by the balcony looking outside. Erika sees him and stands next to him. They were both silent, after all that just went down how could they find the words. He grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to him. They stood there for a while just watching the view. After a little Jake turns to face her, ready to speak up

Jake: Marry me?
Erika: Jake..what..
Jake: Will you marry me?
Erika: What..I what are you doing
Jake: They say it takes something tragic to make you cherish and appreciate all you have. Tonight I feel like I almost lost you, I can't lose you. So I'm here asking you again will you marry me?
Erika: Yes
Narrator: His eyes widen because he had a little bit of doubt thinking maybe she would say no. She grabbed his face and kissed him.
Erika: I know what you're thinking, I could never say no to you
Jake: *laughs* Sorry I don't have a ring and I'm covered in dry blood and this isn't the most romantic.
Erika: it's not a big deal, we're not your average couple
Jake: You're right about that

Narrator: They go back inside and get ready for bed. Jake grabs her and doesn't let go. With smiles on their face they fall asleep.

Milan, Italy
Fatebenefratelli Hospital

Narrator: Christian had been transported to the nearest emergency room. He was in his room when the officers had arrived to question him.

Officer: Sir, we need you to explain what happened
Christian: That won't be necessary, I'm not pressing charges
Officer: Sir, are you sure? We can help you if you are in danger
Christian: yes I'm positive. Can you just call my assistant and let her know to come get me. Her names Charlotte Downs
Officer: We will give her a call, but you may not leave until you have been discharged.
Christian: yes understood
Officer: Before we go Mr. Lombardi do you know who your attacker was?
Christian: Of course he's an old friend. It was just a misunderstanding officer honest. However once you cross the line there's always consequences am I right officer? Anyways thank you for the visit have a wonderful day
Officer: Yeah you too Mr. Lombardi

Narrator: About an hour later Christian was able to use the phone and call Charlotte. He also needed to make another call to a new friend

Christian: Hey Charlotte
Charlotte: Hey boss I'm on my way, is everything okay? They told me you're in critical condition
Christian: Oh please minor cuts and bruises. No big deal! Listen did you ever get a hold of our new friend?
Charlotte: Yes sir, I arranged a meeting. She's very eager to meet with you
Christian: Great! As am I but sadly I can't meet her for a while. I need to lay low, some of the fellas heard I was in the area and I need to leave immediately. Mark my words Jake Paul you can't get rid of me, I'm coming after you and Erika. You will never be happy with her if I can't have her.
