Jerika: It's Complicated 🐐💙

Chapter 32

Narrator: A few hours had gone by and Erika was finally waking up. It was now 2 in the morning and she looked around. Jake was sleeping on the couch that was in the room. She was feeling better so she sat up trying not to make any noise but it was already to late Jake heard and woke up.

Jake: Babe! Are you ok? How are you feeling?
Erika: I'm fine, I feel better but there was no need to bring him here
Jake: I was worried, you fainted what else was I supposed to do?
Erika: I know, it's alright.
Jake: Why haven't you been eating or drinking enough water? That's not like you. I'm going to make sure you do from now on
Erika: Babe there's no need for that, I'm fine. I can skip a few meals. It's no big deal
Jake: When you're carrying my child it is..
Erika: What did you say?!
Jake: Babe you're pregnant!
Erika: ...no I'm not. What!
Jake: We're having a baby!
Erika: Omg! I can't believe this

Narrator: Jake got closer and they hugged each other. This was the best news they both could have gotten. He looked back down and gave her a long kiss before he went to get the doctor.

After a little bit Erika was cleared to go home, she got ready and was happy to get in the car. She really needed to talk to Jake about her situation but now wasn't the perfect time.

3 days later

Narrator: Since they found out they were expecting Jake was so sweet with Erika. The morning sickness was hitting her hard but she was happy and feeling very blessed to be carrying a baby.
They had gone to their first check up and so far everything was great.

Tonight they had an event to attend and it was a big deal. Although Erika wasn't showing the bump yet she still felt insecure about her body for some reason.
She was on her way to get dressed at her stylist Sonia's House. After 2 hours of debating they finally chose a nice blue figure hugging dress.
She was running a little behind so her makeup artist met her at Sonia's also and Jake would be picking her up in about an hour.

Meanwhile Jake had just finished a workout. His mind was focused on work and anytime he needed to release some stress the gym was there to help him. He saw the time and rushed in the shower.
His stylist had already came by and picked his outfit out. He got dressed and quickly ran to the lambo to go pick Erika up.

After 45 mins he made it to Sonia's and his jaw dropped when he saw his wife. Man was he feeling lucky to be married to her.
They were on their way to the event, a lot of important directors and music producers would be there. Thankfully Kevin and Krista would be there as well tonight. It was a big deal and he was feeling a little worried. He doesn't have the greatest rep in Hollywood but he's been trying to clean his image and be more positive.

They arrived to the venue, there were a lot of respectable people both Jake and Erika were eager to meet. They split up for a little as Erika went with Krista.
Jake went with Kevin and they spoke to many different producers. See the thing is Jake had got an offer to play a lead in an upcoming movie, the script was great but there was a few problems. It would be filmed out of the country  for 3 months. How would he tell Erika he had to leave her alone during the pregnancy for that amount of time?
This was a big move in his career and to be working with a big director like Mr. Lynch was a really big opportunity. As they were talking with Mr. Lynch, Erika walked over to join them.

Jake: Mr. Lynch, this is my wife Erika.
Lynch: You are beautiful, Jake you're a lucky man. Pleasure to meet you
Erika: That's very kind, nice to meet you.
Lynch: Are you excited for your husband's big role?
Erika: Um..yeah of course
Jake: Yes.. honey...
Lynch: 3 months go by quick and he will be back before you know it. This man is perfect for the role.
Erika: Mr. Lynch could you explain details, I'm just concerned 3 months is too long.
Narrator: By this moment Erika was annoyed. Why did Jake not tell her? She was going to play it off as the supportive wife in front of Mr. Lynch because the last thing she would want to do is hurt Jake's career.
Lynch: Well to be quite honest we would be filming in Italy for 2 months and 1 month in Brazil. There is a lot of action in this movie so we need areas that have a nice scenery.
Erika: Wow, sounds great. I can't wait to see the movie when it's finished.
Lynch: Of course! We will have a viewing party besides the premiere at my house. I would love it if you would both attend.
Erika: I'd be honored.
Jake: Thank you sir, were going to go ahead and go home now it's getting late.
Lynch: Alright, I'll be in touch with you and Kevin. Have a good night.

Narrator: They said goodbye and walked out to the car. Erika didn't say a word and continued walking with Jake following behind.
The whole ride was quiet, she just looked straight ahead or out of her window. Jake realized he should've told her, truth is he's known for a while now. He just wasn't sure how to tell her. He placed his hand on her thigh and she didn't move.
They had arrived home and she quickly got out and ran to the bedroom. Jake followed her in as she was undressing.

Jake: Can you please talk to me?
Erika: I'm very sleepy Jake.
Jake: I know you're upset with me..
Erika: I'm not.
Jake: Then why won't you look at me or even said a word to me in the car?
Erika: I already told you I'm tired.

Narrator: She went to the bathroom and sat in front of the vanity to remove her makeup. Jake was just about to give up when he decided to try one more time. He went in and grabbed her chair to turn her around. He then kneeled in front of her

Jake: I'm sorry for not telling you sooner
Erika: Don't be, I'm not mad.
Jake: Maybe you're not mad but you're upset
Erika: I'll admit I was but during the car ride I realized there's no need to be upset. I can't force you tell me everything. If you choose to tell me then fine but you have made it clear for me and now I know for the future.
Jake: That wasn't my intention at all.. I was just afraid to tell you how long I would be gone.
Erika: If you would have told me I would've understood. You should know I would never get in the way of you pursuing your career. I'm very sleepy, in case you forgot there's a little one growing in my belly. I'm not mad okay, I love you and i will always support you.
Jake: I love you so much. You're amazing you know that? Thanks for being understanding. I'm working for you and our baby.

Narrator: They went to bed and snuggled up together. Jake had quickly fallen asleep but Erika was still awake. Her mind was filled with many emotions and feelings. She was annoyed and a little mad earlier butane she said she could never get in the way of his career she was happy for him but also feeling guilty for not telling him about Christian. Every time she got the chance something came up. She tried falling asleep again she needed her rest, tomorrow would be filled with meetings and a concert in the end with Team 10.

Authors note: Woaaaaahhhhh. A chance to be on the big screen is great but would Jake have risked it for his family if Erika wasn't ok with it? 🤔 But they were able to work it out, nothing better than a partner who understands.  Maybe now Erika can finally speak up and tell Jake the truth.
