Chapter 16

Narrator: Jake had gone upstairs to take a nap but he ended up falling asleep through out the night. He got up and started his day early. He went to the gym, went to a meeting and got back home. Erika was on his mind and he really wanted to talk to her, he FaceTimed her but she never answered. Feeling frustrated he decided to go visit his brother.

Maverick House
2 PM

Logan: Hey Bro!! You're not pranking me right?
Jake: Hey.
Logan: You alright man?
Jake: No, I came to talk to you because you're my brother and I trust you
Logan: Jake, you're scaring me
Jake: Cut the bullshit Logan and be serious
Logan: I can't when you're acting this way, it's not you
Jake: I'M HURTING! OK?!

Narrator: Out of frustration Jake yelled at Logan. It surprised his brother but it made him realize he was being serious and took him to the living room to talk.

Logan: Jake I'm sorry, I'm actually happy you're coming to me. What's wrong brother?
Jake: It's this rich asshole
Logan: what did he do, is he threatening you?
Jake: He wanted to invest into Team 10. But this guy..he's just not the type you could work with. And to make matters worse he's interested in Erika. They dated for a little bit she broke up with him so we could work on us again
Logan: I'm guessing he's not giving up on her right?
Jake: Yeah, how'd you know
Logan: I saw these articles in the morning

Narrator: Logan pulls his phone and shows Jake what the press had been talking about. Even all the photos. He couldn't look anymore and put his head down. He was feeling defeated

Logan: I'm sorry man
Jake: He's doing it to get back at me, I know it. He's a shady man, I've been doing background checks and this man is lying about who he says he is.
Logan: what did you find out?
Jake: He's in a drug cartel
Logan: Jake are you serious man, there's no way
Jake: Yes! I hired someone to find out everything about this man. He grew up poor and spent his time in and out of juvie as a kid. He then got busted for drugs and no one heard from him since. Then a guy appears in LA with the same first and middle name, he says he works in real estate but this man is a fraud. His office doesn't even offer those services.
Logan: Bro I get it, you love Erika but these are serious accusations. You need to be careful
Jake: I wouldn't make this up, I can show you everything
Logan: So what do you plan on doing?
Jake: When we met for lunch I told him to be careful if he didn't want me to expose him. But I see he didn't take my warning serious and still went to find Erika. I need to bring her back , she hasn't answered me Bro
Logan: Brother she's working, just be patient. I don't want you to rush
Jake: The more time she's away from me with him the more angry I get! I'm going!
Logan: No you're not Jake, let her work. You can stay with me and we can keep your mind off of it
Jake: Logan I'm going, no ones holding me back.
Narrator: With rage in his eyes Jake meant every word he said. Logan knew he couldn't change his brothers mind if anything he wanted to help his brother. Jake was there to forgive him from the mistakes he made, and now he wanted to show him how much he really loves his brother.
Logan: Well if you're going then I'm going with you..
Jake: No, you stay here and continue with your life and your vlogs.
Logan: No! You're my brother and I need to be there for you. I've been a shitty brother to you
Jake: Fine you can go with me but you're going to have to hold me back. I will kill that asshole.
Logan: Jake calm down please
Jake: NO! Why won't she answer me, I need to know if she's ok. Or is she ignoring me because they're back together?!
Logan: You're overthinking this! We will go see her and you can see nothing is wrong.
Jake: I will not leave until I bring her home with me. And if I need to kill that asshole I will
Logan: Just go get ready, I'll get my driver to pick you up and we'll be on our way okay
Jake: Yeah

5 hours later
Narrator: Jake and Logan had packed a bag and made their way to the airport. Nick was able to get them a jet. They boarded and took off, Logan instantly fell asleep. Jake wasn't able to his mind was racing wondering what exactly are Christian's intentions. He still couldn't sleep and checked his emails. Nick had sent him all the details of where Erika was staying and where she was going with Joe tonight. He was feeling slightly nervous what if she had gotten over him and that's why she's avoiding him? He hasn't seen her in so long and he felt that was plenty of time for Christian to swoon his way back with her.

Meanwhile Erika could not stand being with Christian any longer. It was now 8 and she was getting ready for dinner, Joe was meeting her there and she made sure not to tell Christian where she was going. He was driving her crazy this whole time, and she was doing everything she could to avoid him. Why couldn't he leave, she made it clear she only wanted to be friends but now she wants him out of her life entirely. She did feel bad at times for him because he showed he was definitely in love with her and she could never return the feelings. She finished getting ready. She had her hair and makeup done and wore a gorgeous black max dress with a slit on the side.
She heard a knock on the door and figured it was her driver, he was a little early but that's okay she was ready to go. She walks over and opens the door to let him in but freezes when she sees Christian.

Christian: Hey gorgeous
Erika: Um.. hi
Christian: You look nice, where you going?
Erika: Have you been drinking, your breath smells awful
Christian: only a little bit, I wanted us to go get pizza
Erika: I can't, I have a work related dinner to attend
Christian: And you weren't planning on telling me whyyyyy
Erika: Because it's none of your business, i don't need to tell you everything. We are not together
Christian: I'm tired of these games with you! You're leading me on
Erika: no I'm not! Please get out now
Christian: NO
Erika: You're scaring me, please leave

Narrator: Erika became very frightened and wanted Christian out. He refused and grabbed her wrists. She screamed in pain but he didn't care he was drunk after all. He threw her on the bed and began to kiss her neck, she kept turning away from him and begged him to stop but he wouldn't listen. He lifted her dress and rubbed her thigh, she kept looking for a way out. He got up and started to unbuckle his pants so she took the moment to kick him and run out. She grabbed her purse and ran out. She saw the car waiting and got in.
They had arrived and she didn't stop to talk to the press or take photos. She went in and found Joe. He saw the look on her face and knew something was up. He excused himself from the table and took her to a separate room.

Joe: Erika what happened! Why do you have bruises?!
Erika: It was Christian, Joe we need to leave.
Joe: Did he try to have his way with you?
Erika: Yes but I fought him so he didn't get to
Joe: Erika we need to report this and have him arrested
Erika: No! He was drunk and I don't want this to go public please.
Joe: You're going to regret this if we don't take action
Erika: I'll be fine, I just want to go home please.
Joe: Okay we will finish here and I'll have Nick book us a flight back home tomorrow
Erika: Okay and Joe please don't tell Jake any of this.
Joe: He's going to ask why you came back so soon
Erika: He can't find out, you know how he is
Joe: Alright I won't. Let's go back there are lots of people eager to meet you

Narrator: They went back to the dining hall. Joe was introducing Erika to a lot of people wanting to work with her and Team 10. Everything was going smooth, she was distracted enough to not think about what happened earlier. Suddenly cameras were flashing and forming a crowd by the entrance. She looked over and saw him. Jake was there and so was Logan. She looked to her right and saw Joe, they both knew Jake would see the bruises on her arms and wrists. She panicked but Joe calmed her and told her she has to face him. She knew he was right but this night would end up becoming worse...
