Chapter 31

Jake and Erika's House
11 A.M

Narrator: Morning had arrived and the lovebirds were still in bed. After their long and passionate night it was best to sleep in. But now they had another addition to their family and she was crying for attention.
Erika got up and took Apollo and the puppy out in the backyard.
Jake got up and went to find them.

Jake: We need to name her you know.
Erika: Yeah, I already have a name in mind but I think we should both decide together.
Jake: No babe, I want you to name her. I got her for you
Erika: Well she's ours and I really like the name Viah.
Jake: I love it, and I love you.
Erika: *smiles* I love you too.
Jake: So Mrs. Paul how about we make some breakfast?
Erika: More like lunch, we slept in so late haha
Jake: Hm..point taken. Ok how about brunch?
Erika: Sounds like a plan Mr. Paul.

Narrator: They went inside and breakfast together and were having a good time but Jake was still worried about Erika. She was jumpy and got scared anytime he spoke to her. Maybe now wasn't the right time to bring it up since they were enjoying the moment.

1 week later

Narrator: Erika was depressed, Christian had been over everyday as soon as Jake left. It was almost as he knew everything. She didn't feel safe anymore and she couldn't speak up. Christian wouldn't do anything to her but his presence just made her disgusted and terrified. She needed an escape but who could she tell?

Christian has left and she felt relieved knowing Jake would be home soon. Maybe she would finally have the courage to tell him tonight.
She waited for him in the living room, and she saw the headlights flash through the window. He walked in and the dogs greeted him, he was happy to be with his little family.
Jake: Hey babe I missed you
Erika: I did too
Jake: So the boys want a family dinner tonight, I told them we would be there
Erika: Oh yeah sure
Jake: You alright babe? We can cancel if you want
Erika: No it's ok, let me just go get dressed and we can go.
Jake: Alright

Narrator: She ran upstairs and calmed down. Maybe she can tell him after dinner, they would just need to leave early. She got dressed and walked downstairs. Jake was waiting by the door and grabbed her hand as they walked out she noticed a car she recognized and knew it was Christian. Did he know she was planning to tell Jake? She began to freak out

Erika: Jake I don't feel..
Jake: Babe!

Narrator: She fainted and luckily Jake had caught her before she fell. He quickly put her in his car and drove to the hospital. Something wasn't right and he knew. He began to swerve and run red lights till they finally made it. Everything was a blur from that moment but they were now taking care of Erika. Jake had to wait in the lobby so he called Team 10 and told them what happened. They immediately rushed to the hospital to be there for Jake. He didn't care about anything else he just wanted to know if his wife was alright. The only thing that matters in his life. After waiting for over an hour the doctor came to speak to Jake.

Dr. Hicks: Mr. Paul can you join follow me please.
Jake: Sure
Dr. Hicks: Your wife is fine now she is stabilized. The reason she fainted is because she was very dehydrated and lack of nutrients. Has she been eating or drinking regularly?
Jake: Well to be honest with you Dr. recently I've noticed a change in her appetite.
Dr. Hicks: You need to make sure she does Mr. Paul, it's very important with her condition.
Jake: What condition?
Dr. Hicks: Congratulations Mr. Paul, you're wife is expecting
Jake: No, are you serious?! Oh my..this is the best news I've heard!
Dr. Hicks: I'm glad to share the news with you, she should be up soon. We got her hooked with some IV and should feeling better enough to go home soon.
Jake: Thanks so much Dr. Hicks. Really thank you
Dr. Hicks: No problem, I'll be back in a few hours.
Narrator: Jake went back to the lobby with a big smile on his face.
Nick: Well?! How is she?!
Jake: She's fine now, she was dehydrated and hadn't been eating well
Kade: Is that why she fainted?
Jake: Well yeah..partially
Tony: Bro what do you mean partially?
Jake: Well....she's pregnant
Kade: YES! Congrats bro
Tony: Congrats! Happy for you man
Nick: Congrats Jake!
Chance: Same dude congrats
Chads: This is the best news ever!
Jake: Thanks guys! You have no idea how happy I am, I'm surprised I'm calm right now.
Nick: Well relax and go be with her, we're going to head back home just keep us updated.
Jake: I will, thanks for coming over here guys.

Narrator: They said their goodbyes and Jake went back to the room Erika was in. She was still sleeping as he watched her. As soon sh she wakes up he would be the one to tell her they were going to have a baby. He was so happy, life was going great for them already and this was just making it a whole lot better. He always knew he loved Erika but seeing her now..knowing she was carrying his child was the greatest feeling.
