Chapter 18

Narrator: Morning had arrived and Jake woke up. He looked over to see Erika sleeping peacefully. He kissed her forehead and she woke up.
Erika: Hi
Jake: morning beautiful. How'd you sleep?
Erika: I tend to sleep better when I'm with you
Jake: You're so cute. Let's get ready I have a surprise for you
Erika: You know I hate surprises
Jake: I know but you might like this one, go get ready please. I still have some of your clothes in my closet
Narrator: She turned and smiled at him when he said that. She really felt lucky, after all they go through they end up running back to each other. She went to shower and got dressed. Jake needed to finish getting ready but he had a call he needed to take. She goes downstairs and finds Nick in the office

Erika: Morning Nick
Nick: Morning, I'm guessing you slept well
Erika: I did, I'm trying to put everything behind me
Nick: Jake not up yet?
Erika: He got a call, he just needs to get ready. I have no clue where he's taking me. Do you know anything?
Nick: I..
Jake: Babe, I told you it's a surprise. Since you're so eager let's go
Nick: Bye! Have fun

Narrator: They walk outside and Erika was heading to the car. Jake told her they would be walking and there was no need. They walk next door and see a new mansion that was just finished being built. The sign said it was sold already. Jake pushes the gate open so they can take a look inside

Erika: Jake stop we're trespassing
Jake: No ones here, let's go look
Erika: Ok fine

Narrator: They walk in and it's beautiful. The mansion was already nice on the outside but the inside was the best part.

Erika: This place is gorgeous, I wonder who bought it? They'll be our neighbors and I hope they're nice
Jake: Welcome home babe
Erika: No..you didn't
Jake: *smirks* I did, this is our home
Erika: Jake this is so nice, you shouldn't have we have a home already.
Jake: I know that but I feel like you and I need our own home together. Plus we'll be next door and not far from the rest of Team 10
Erika: I can't believe this well I'm excited but what are our plans for the wedding?
Jake: Do you want a big wedding?
Erika: Not really...I just want our family and close friends. I would marry you now without a big wedding to plan but you won't let that happen
Jake: *laughs* I just think you deserve something really special
Erika: Thank you but it's not all about me you know
Jake: Yes but I want to make it about you. You deserve all the happiness. Do you want to let everyone know we're getting married yet?
Erika: Let's just tell our family first and then we can announce it to the rest
Jake: I like that idea. Let's go now we have an appointment we need to go to
Erika: Hm okay

Narrator: They walked back to the house and got in blood shark. After 20 minutes they arrived to meet their new wedding planner. Jake wanted Erika to be able to relax and not stress so hiring a planner to do the work just made sense. Erika was very excited even though they both didn't want a big wedding it was nice for both of them to be able to pick out what they wanted together. They even agreed they wanted to get married very soon, their date would be 2 months away.

Their time with the planner had come to an end so Jake wanted to grab some lunch together.

Jake: You're so cute when you're hangry
Erika: Shut it
Jake: *laughs* Love you.
Actually can we talk about something that's bugging me..
Erika: Ok but I'm still eating so if I lose focus don't get mad
Jake: it's fine babe. But I really want to know why won't you press charges on Christian?
Erika: I..
Jake: Answer me please
Erika: I don't want this to be public
Jake: Forget about that and focus on the fact that he needs to be in jail for what happened
Erika: No! I'm moving on from this and I'm not looking back, please just respect my decision
Jake: I can't babe, he almost..look how close he was to getting what he wanted. It's taking all of my strength to not go find him and murder him
Erika: Please stop, you're spoiling my appetite. We were having a nice lunch babe please listen to me and just forget it okay?
Jake: Are you protecting him? Is that why?
Erika: No way in hell
Jake: Then explain because I don't understand why you won't listen to me. You know what it's fine. I need some air, take the car I'm walking home

Narrator: Jake got up and paid for lunch. He left Erika there who was still at the table shocked what had just happened. She couldn't believe he just left her there. She finished eating and left to go home. On her drive there she replayed her small argument with Jake over and over again. He didn't even seem to be mad, instead he actually looked sad over it, but she didn't think he would just leave her there.

She made it back to the house and went into the office to see Nick. They talked about things going on, and trips everyone would go on together very soon. But her mind was distracted and she would look down at her phone every minute. A few hours went by and before they knew it was getting close to midnight. She said goodnight to everyone in the house and went upstairs to get ready for bed. She didn't think their small disagreement would affect him this much. All she wanted to do was forget everything negative and leave it behind. She got her phone and sent Jake one last text before she would fall asleep.

Erika: Jake I'm sorry we argued. I do realize you're just trying to protect me. But I'm hurt you left me there and ignored me all day. Now you're not even home and I'm going to bed alone without you. I have forgiven everything you have done because I love you and I do believe you love me. Thats also why I said yes to marry you, but if you are ignoring me this easily then maybe I should take this as a sign that we're just not ready...please be safe and know that I love you
