Chapter 39

Narrator: After her disagreement with Jake she felt so angry. Still hurt by all his accusations. She didn't want to speak to anyone and stayed in the nursery with Jaxon. She kept replaying the moment in her head. How could he just try to walk back in and ask for forgiveness like that. After all the pain she had been through. After Christian had threatened his life and all she really wanted to do was protect him. She looked back down at her son and smiled. No matter what she was going through, he was the only thing that mattered in her life now.

Christian's House

Narrator: Christian had been laying low for a while. He had people after him and the last thing he needed was to get found by the big boss.
He had become more paranoid and had more of his men at the house. He forgot about his revenge on Erika only for the time being. After all he knew the marriage was over, and from what Charlotte told him it didn't seem like they would be reconciling anytime soon.
He had finished getting dressed and was on his way out to an important drop.

About an hour later they arrived to an abandoned warehouse. The area was dark and isolated. He was feeling very anxious, something kept telling him not to go through with this but he needed to if he wanted to be able to expand his business. He stepped out of the car with his men at the side as they walked in. He would be meeting Raphael a well known seller turned gang leader. He was one not to be crossed, and has people working for him in places you wouldn't expect.

Raphael: Welcome Lombardi
Christian: Pleasure. Let's get right to it
Raphael: Relax we're friends here
Christian: I prefer to settle this and leave.
Raphael: Fine so be it. My offer is we can work together, if you can provide my guys will sell. All I ask is for 50%
Christian: You're crazy. You can get 30%
Raphael: And why is that?
Christian: I'm more at risk here, there's a hit on me.
Raphael: So I've heard.. make it 40% and you have my word. I will risk my name to help you out with more protection
Christian: How do I know you may not rat me out like others?
Raphael: Because I have been watching you for a while now and where you are going you will have the best protection 24/7
Christian: The hell are you talking about?
Guard: Boss it's a set up!

Narrator: As soon as Christian heard that he ran, to the car. It felt like time froze and everything was in slow motion.
He was running as fast as he could and felt a strong pain. He looked and saw he was shot in the arm. He didn't want to get caught so he kept moving. He felt lightheaded but managed to get in the car with his driver speeding off. The rest of his men was left there to fight. They were being followed for a moment but managed to escape. He quickly grabbed his phone and called Charlotte

Charlotte: Hey sir
Christian: Charlotte! I was shot, I'm on my now get the doctor over
Charlotte: No sir we have to take you to the hospital!
Christian: NO they will find me there. Do as I say and get me a new phone immediately
Charlotte: Alright I'm on it. Hurry please

Narrator: His adrenaline was rushing and he applied pressure to his arm during the ride. His mind was everywhere and his paranoia was back. Who set him up and what did they get out of it? Only a few people knew of this meeting. And he was ready to show no mercy when he finds out the rat.

Back at the warehouse

Narrator: The FBI was there and most of Christian's men were detained. Raphael was on the phone angry with his boss. He had been undercover for months. This was his moment to get Christian but he got away.
Raphael was more determined now and was ready to investigate. There was not much on his personal life but there were payments made to Hollywood reporters in his name and he wasn't sure why just yet.
