Chapter 33

Jake and Erika's House
11:30 A.M

Narrator: Jake and Erika were just now waking up and since they arrived home late they decided to sleep in.
Jake was still feeling upset with himself. He was quiet as he stared at the ceiling. By now Erika had noticed so she got on top of him.

Erika: How many times do I have to tell you I'm not mad!
Jake: You're not mad but I'm mad at myself
Erika: Can you get it through that thick skull of yours! Your wife is not mad, but she will be if you don't stop it right now!
Jake: Haha fine, thanks baby

Narrator: He pulled her face down and gave her a long kiss. As things were getting head she stopped and stared at him

Jake: What's wrong?
Erika: I'm really hungry right now
Jake: *laughs* Ok missy lets go get you some food! Our baby is very hungry this morning
Erika: We want a big breakfast!
Jake: Anything for you my love

Narrator: They went to the kitchen and made breakfast together. At this moment Jake was happy, he had so many things to be thankful for and Erika was one of them. He wanted to take her to see her family like he had planned and with more reason to now. In fact.. he needed to call his family and let them know. After breakfast he went into his office and called his mom.

Pam: Hi Jakey!
Jake: Hi mom
Pam: I miss you, I'm glad you called
Jake: Me too mom, I actually have something to share with you
Pam: What is it? Are you alright?
Jake: Yes I'm fine mom, are you sitting down?
Pam: Yes. Can you please tell me, you're worrying me!
Jake: You're going to be a grandma!
Pam: Oh my! Sweetheart congratulations! I'm so happy, I need to fly out there and help Erika decorate the nursery! I gotta call her and..
Jake: Mom relax! *laughs*
Pam: This will be my first grandchild, I can't help but be excited!
Jake: You're right! Love you mom
Pam: Love you too, congrats again! I'll talk to you later.

Narrator: He called his dad next but he didn't answer so he sent him a message. He then called Logan

Logan: Brother Jake! What's up?
Jake: Hey I wanted to call you to ask you something.
Logan: Alright what is it?
Jake: Can you baby proof the maverick house? I know you want to be a cool uncle but you got a lot of dangerous objects there..
Logan: Baby proof? Why the hell would I... wait no! No way!
Jake: Uncle Logan
Logan: Bro congrats! This is great I'm going to be the best and hottest Uncle in LA!
Jake: Ok... chill man
Logan: Happy for you and Erika, I'll send her some flowers. Proud of you man, love you.
Jake: Thanks bro, love you too. I'll come by later this week
Logan: Alright sounds good. Bye

Narrator: He went to the living room and found Erika sleeping on the couch with the dogs. He covered her with a blanket. He had been reading a book on first time parents and he definitely learned pregnant women need their naps. They didn't have anywhere to go until later when they would meet Team 10 at the concert they were all going to so he went to work out in the gym.

A few hours later it was time to get ready and Jake had to wake Erika from her nap. She went and got dressed into a nice black jumpsuit, she had her hair in loose curls and did her makeup fairly neutral.
Jake was already dressed and waiting for her downstairs. They said goodbye to Apollo and Viah and went next door to the Team 10 house. Everyone was all dressed nice and got inside the van. The concert they were going to had a lot of big artists singing tonight and they were invited by the organizer of the event.

About 30 minutes they arrived and were seated in the VIP area which was in the middle. Everyone was having a great time and enjoying the music. They even met some fans, and took pictures.
They all started dancing when suddenly Tony yells really loud! A man dressed in black holding a gun towards their direction. Four more guys surrounded them as security had a hard time reaching them. Everyone was running Jake had moved Erika behind him. He stared the man down. He looked over at Tony, Kade, and Chance and with one look they knew what they had to do. Jake jumped over and tackled the man. He kicked the gun and began to beat him as the boys did also. Chad and Nick grabbed Erika and pulled her away. She kept screaming, she didn't want to leave Jake behind but they carried her and placed her in the van.

Erika: Let me go damn it! Chad I swear to god you do not want to be in my way.
Chad: Erika! You're pregnant, think of the baby. Please!
Nick: Erika I have faith the boys got this, please relax. It's not good for the both of you.

Narrator: She was pissed waiting what felt like an eternity. Her phone buzzed and it was a message from an unknown number.

Christian: Did you love my surprise? I warned you, why I haven't I seen you in days!!!! The next time I won't be so friendly.

Narrator: She blocked the number and turned her phone off. The boys were running towards the van as they screamed for Nick to start the car. They jumped in and Jake immediately grabbed Erika into a tight hug.

Jake: Are you hurt? Are you okay?
Erika: Yes babe, I'm fine! But you're hurt look at your hands and you have a cut on your eye.
Jake: I don't fucking care. I just want to know you're alright
Erika: You put yourself at risk! He could've shot you!
Jake: I would rather take a bullet than see my wife and my baby get shot so yes I wanted to protect you!
Erika: Okay let's calm down, I'm sorry.
Jake: Me too. I need to talk to security and figure out if this has something to do with that son of a bitch!
Erika: Yeah..

1 month later

Narrator: A month had passed since the incident. Erika and Jake had moved back in the Team 10 house. They were in the process of trying to locate a new house since he didn't feel safe at their current location anymore. Jake had also hired more security for everyone and he had the cops involved more. They weren't able to trace who those men worked for. Although they were all being held without bond they refused to cooperate and tell the truth.
Erika had a hard time trying to tell Jake. How was she to tell Jake she's met with Christian for 2 weeks straight behind his back because he was threatening to kill him.

Jake had just arrived from his meeting with Mr Lynch and Kevin. He was excited when he got home today he would surprise Erika with tickets he got to go to Nashville. He was on his way to tell her but Matt the head of security needed to speak with him immediately.
They sat in the office and Matt became emotionless.

Jake: What's going on Matt?
Matt: Sir..I really don't know how to tell you this but we discovered something on the security tapes from your home that you need to see immediately.
