*towards the halfwayish mark it gets a bit mature, just forewarning.*

I looked at the now filled space, once just empty and dusty, with a wide grin on my face. 4 boys were sprawled out on the floor in front of me, moaning dramatically. I'm still looking for the fifth when I feel a pair of arms snake around my waist and hear a voice, low in my ear.

"I think you should kick them out now so we can break in the new apartment."

Calum, closest to us, looks up in horror at Luke and I. "We just hauled your stuff up 3 flights of stairs and you're not even going to give us time to rest?"

I kick back, hitting Luke's shin, and hear the satisfaction of him sucking in a breath in pain as a result.

"Pizzas on the way guys, Rose is bringing it." I promise, only getting muttered agreement in response.

It'd taken 3 days to decide on this apartment, 3 days for the paperwork to go through and get packed, and today, exactly 1 week since I'd been hired and met Luke's mom, I had been able to move in, thanks to help from a reluctant Michael, Calum, Ashton, Chase, and Luke. Looking at the space filled with my stuff, I felt a sense of satisfaction. I'd fallen in love with the small third floor, 1 bedroom apartment. It had an alright view, and the numerous windows let in copious amounts of sunlight. It was small, but cozy, shiny granite countertops winking at the pale blue walls. It even had a balcony, albeit a tiny one, but good enough to place a chair and flowers outside. I had been amazed to find it so close to my work, and had obsessed over it for 2 days before finally getting it. I started my dream job tomorrow. The cloud of Luke leaving, as well as the other boys, hung over my head, effectively raining on my parade, but for now, I blocked it out. I knew I was lucky, and I wasn't going to take it for granted.

Telling my dad had been easier than I had anticipated. But then again, it wasn't like we really saw each other when I lived with him. I think it was actually a relief to him to not have to worry about me when he was gone, knowing that I would be in my own apartment in a crowded city, where it would be hard to get hurt without someone hearing it. He'd insisted on paying my rent for the first 2 months while I got on my feet, and I had accepted. I was paying for my own college soon and it would actually be helpful to have 2 months of rent off my shoulders. He'd finally accepted I was an adult and capable of making my own decision, even with Luke, and I wasn't going to question it. I was still smiling like an idiot, leaning back against Luke's chest when Rose strolled through the door, pizza boxes stacked in her arms.

"You look tired." She says casually, stepping over Chase's body thrown in her path, setting the boxes down on the counter in the kitchen.

He glares at her, then at me, finally picking himself up to help himself to the pizza. "Andy, you're shit is heavier than you lead us to believe."

I shrug innocently, extracting myself from Luke to sit on the counter, grabbing pizza for myself. "I just said I needed help moving in, I said nothing about the weight of what you'd be moving. And I carried the nightstand up myself, so you can't say I didn't help at all, or didn't know what you were getting in to."

"Devious." Ashton mutters, grabbing a slice for himself. I kick his butt as he walks away, throwing himself down on the couch.

Luke sits down on the counter next to me as the others pile together on the couch, turning some cheesy movie or other on.

"Your very own apartment." Luke says proudly.

I nudge him. "Are you thinking about moving out at all?"

Luke's face turns a tiny bit red. "After what my mom saw last week, I should probably consider it. I don't need my mother asking me if we were safe everytime I come home from seeing you. But no, I'm leaving for America in a few weeks, really no use right now."
