It was only six o'clock an Emma lay in her bed already wide awake, playing excitedly with her blanket. In her mind she acted out all sorts of scenarios that could happen today.
When she heard footsteps downstairs, she knew she could finally get up without waking anyone. So the blonde jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom. The girl showered more thoroughly than she had in a long time and brushed her teeth three times just to make sure that she had no bad breath.
Then she ran back to her room and stood in front of her wardrobe. What should she wear? Should she dress up and put on the only dress in her closet? Or would that be too much?
Stressed, she sat down on her bed and stared into the wardrobe. Quickly she glanced at the clock and found that it was already half past eight.
The girl jumped up again and rummaged through her chests. It looked like a warm spring day, so she opted for blue jeans and a white blouse. You could never go wrong with that, she thought contentedly, heading down.
Smiling and with a fast beating heart, she sat down at the breakfast table and grabbed a slice of bread. Without thinking, she gulped down the bread and asked Mary Margaret if she could get up earlier to finish her things.
Upstairs, she threw her purse and cell phone into her bag and ran back to the bathroom. Once there, she plow dried her hair and fixed her outfit.
As the doorbell finally rang, Emma sprinted downstairs. Regina was already in the house talking to Mary Margaret.
The girl stopped for a moment and admired the woman she would soon be alone with. She was beautiful as always.
"Good morning, Emma. Are you ready? "The brunette then asked, tearing Emma out of her thoughts.
"Yes! Let's go. I'm so excited! "She exclaimed.
Regina nodded and went through the door. Emma put on her red leather jacket and then followed her psychologist.
"See you later," Emma shouted before closing the door.
Arriving at the car, she nervously sat down in the passenger seat.
"So? Where are we going? "The girl asked curiously.
"To Washington," the brunette just said and smiled at Emma once before she focused on the street.
"And what are we doing there?" Emma asked impatiently.
Regina chuckled. "Let me surprise you, Emma. I won't tell you anything ".
Emma sighed and just looked out of the window for a while. But her curiosity got the best of her.
"Please Regina. Where are we going, "she almost begged but the brunette just giggled.
"How did you sleep today?" She asked kindly instead.
Emma rolled her eyes and said, "Don't change the subject!"
"Emma", Regina warns now without giggling and the girl fell silent.
"Sorry," she murmured and began to play with the zipper of her jacket.
Regina smiled softly and took her hand off the steering wheel to press Emmas. "It's okay, but you'll be much happier if you let yourself be surprised. Trust me. "She withdrew her hand and concentrated on the street again.
Emma looked up and smiled gratefully at the woman. Thank God she was not angry, was the only thing that went through Emma's mind.
Two hours later, the car came to a stop and Emma's eyes became huge.
"Oh my God! Are you serious? "She asked, jumping out of the car, her eyes sparkling and the biggest grin Regina had ever seen lay on Emma's lips.
The woman also got out and nodded brightly towards the girl.
The blonde turned around standing in front of huge colorful letters that formed the word 'zoo'.
Excited, she went a few steps further and could already see the first animals behind a fence.
The girl turned and ran as quickly as possible back to Regina, who was just pulling her bag out of the car and locked it up. She jumped around the woman's neck and squealed, "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Regina grimaced. "You're screaming in my ear," she said with a chuckle. Emma took a few steps back.
The girl looked Regina in the eye for a while and then whispered, "You're the best thing that ever happened to me!"
Regina chuckled and took Emma by the hand. "Come on. Let's go in before it gets even later ".
Emma immediately started running and dragged Regina after her. "Come on, hurry up!" She said and ran a little faster.
Arriving at the entrance, Regina had to use all her energy to stop Emma. "Wait a minute, we still have to pay the tickets," she said with a laugh and took her wallet out of her pocket.
