"We can't just leave her here! That poor child!", the male voice made the blonde listen carefully.
"No! Of course not!", said the gorgeous brunette. "She is in a pretty bad state of anxiety. First, I'll take care of her, so she doesn't faint. Then we can bring her to the station"
The woman approached the scared girl and a straw was put in front of the her face. "You have to be very thirsty. Here, drink. It's just water", the calm voice of the brunette demanded. And indeed, the girl was very thirsty. Carefully, she grabbed the straw and guided it into her mouth. She sucked on it and as the first drops of fresh water touched her tongue, a satisfied moan filled the otherwise quiet air.
Soon, the bottle was empty, but her thirst was not gone. All the running and the exciting events made her mouth go dry.
"Okay, listen kid", the warm feminine but still hoarse voice said. "We want to take you to the police station. It's much warmer there. And we have food. I bet you are starving" She smiled encouragingly. "Do you think you can walk?"
Carefully, the girl slide to the edge of the bench and put one foot onto the floor. She desperately tried to stand up but as she burdened her legs, there was no strength in them and she immediately lost her balance.
But just as she was supposed to hit the floor, warm hands touched her shoulders and kept her from falling.
But the girl panicked. Her breath started to hitch and the shaking began. Struggling to get free, she fought but didn't succeed. She wanted to scream but the noises where stuck in her throat. Just like always, there was no one here to hear or help her.
Surprisingly, the tight grip on her arms loosened and she was carefully put down on the bench again. Immediately, her savior took a few steps back.
Brown eyes met green ones, and the blondes heart began to beat even faster.
"I'm sorry. I didn't want to scare you. I just didn't want you to fall down and hurt yourself", the soft voice explained and carefully smiled at her. "But you have to get to the car. We can't just leave you here". Somehow, the feminine but dominating voice calmed the girl down and she stopped trembling.
"If it's alright with you, I want to help you get to my car. I won't hurt you. I promise"
Completely stressed out, the girl recalled all the possibilities she had. Running off was off the table! There was nowhere to run. They wouldn't leave her here either. Even if they would, where was she supposed to go without money, food or water?
But only the thought of someone touching her, even if it's to help her, left her breathing heavily and shaking relentlessly. Anyway, it seemed like the only reasonable possibility she had. So, the girl nodded shyly.
The woman approached the blonde slowly and her hand found its way around her back and under her arm.
The blonde closed her eyes tightly as she felt her panic rise. Her breath hitching and her body trembling. But she didn't fight. Instead, she tried to stand up, leaning against the stranger, she just met moments ago.
It seemed like with every step, a knife was stepped into her ankle. Not even talking about the pain in her legs, she got from all the running the day before.
"You are doing great, kid", the comforting voice whispered in the girls ear and with all the strength she had left, they reached the black Mercedes.
The man, who so far only stood in the back and watch them, ran to the car door and opened it. Then he turned around and made his way to the bench, which has been the girls bed for the night.
Meanwhile, the brunette carefully settled the blonde down and put the seat belt around her. Then she put the blanked around the girl and immediately took a few steps back.
The blondes breath slowed down but she didn't dare to look at the woman. So her eyes remained on the green and brown pattern of the blanked.
One moment later, the blond man came to a halt next to the older woman. In his hand was the girls backpack. He handed it over to the brunette and they turned away from the girl.
"Thank you, Regina. I don't know what I would've done without you", the man quietly said.
"Now is not the time for compliments, David", she answered confidently. "Let's get her to the station. There is food. She must be starving!"
Then she turned around, closed the girls door and made her way to the other side of the car.
The soft noise of the engine and the swaying of the driving car calmed the girl. Slowly, she leaned her head against the window and closed her eyes. Seconds later, she was asleep.
