One day, as Emma sat on Reginas couch again, she felt more secure than ever. The woman put down her pen and notebook a while ago and they had an open conversation. The therapy aspect long forgotten.
But that was no big problem, because Emma was almost ready for David and Mary Margaret to say she didn't have to go to therapy anymore. They still wanted to wait till Greg was found though.
"What about apple turnovers? Can you bake them too?" Emma asked. She just couldn't believe that Regina was able to bake everything.
"Easy! I have done them many times already. Next time I'll bring the recipe with me", the woman suggested and Emma was blown away by the idea.
"Yes! I haven't had the chance to bake something till now. A recipe would be helpful!"
Regina giggled and glanced at the clock. "Our time is over. David is definitely already waiting for you", Regina said, smiling apologetically towards the blonde.
The girl stood up and made her way to the door.
"Bye Emma", Regina said and turned to look at the blonde.
"Bye Regina" Emma said.
As the girl reached for the door knob, Regina drew her attention back to the papers in her hand.
The blonde turned the doorknob but didn't open the door quite yet. Slowly, she turned around. Her heart was racing and she had no idea where she got the courage to say her next words from.
"Regina, do you want to go somewhere with me sometimes?"
Reginas head shot up and brown eyes met green ones.
"O-outside the sessions I mean", Emma stuttered and blushed.
A gentle smile formed on the brunettes lips. She had never expected Emma to have the courage to ask her out. Honestly, she didn't even expect Emma having interest in a date with her.
But the brunette hesitated a moment. Was she allowed to go out with a patient?
But on the other hand they have often had something similar to dates, right?
So she nodded with a big smile before writing something on a piece of paper and ripping it out of her notebook.
"Here is my number"
"Really?" Emma asked incredulously.
Regina chuckled and agreed with a simple "Yes".
Emma took the note from Regina. Her smile was wider than Regina had ever seen it and she couldn't help but notice how cute the blonde looked.
"And now go so David doesn't have to wait any longer!" Regina winked at the blonde before concentrating on the papers in her hand again.
The girl stormed down the stairs and jumped into the car.
"Woa Emma. Why so happy?", the man asked, smiling back at her.
"Oh no reason" Emma said, couldn't whip the smile off her face though.
When she got home, she immediately ran to her room, looking for her phone. She forgot to take it with her today and couldn't wait to message the woman.
As she finally found it, she dropped down onto her bed and typed her psychologists number in as quickly as possible.
Then she started writing.
Hey Regina
Just wanted to make sure that it's the right number.
-Emma
The girl typed and stared at the screen until a new message popped up.
Hello Emma
I was already waiting for your message.
So what did you plan for our date?
-Regina
Emma heart started to race. Date. She had a date with Regina Mills!
A few minutes later, the girls heartbeat normalized again and Emma started typing once more.
I thought about camping. It may sound weird, but as a child I always loved it. We could spend the night in the woods from Saturday to Sunday.
What do you say? Please be honest!
Nervously, she put the phone down and put on her pajamas.
The ringing of her phone made the blonde run to it and jump into bed.
Sounds exciting. Should I bring anything?
Emmas finger flew over the keyboard.
I thought we could set up our tent and make a little campfire to roast some sausages and marshmallows.
I can get the food and I have to ask David and Mary Margaret for a tent and sleeping bags.
But I don't know my way around the woods. Do you know a nice place?
When the message was sent, Emma ran down the stairs to her foster parents.
"Mary Margaret? David? Do you have a tent and sleeping bags?" she asked excitingly
"What do you need that for?" Mary Margaret asked.
"Regina and I want to go camping on Saturday", the blonde said, smiling proudly.
A wide grin formed on the adults faces.
"We have a tent but no sleeping bags", David said and thought about a solution. "I can offer you an air mattress though"
"Cool! Thank you!" Emma said and ran upstairs again.
Immediately, she took her phone and read the new message.
Sounds great. I know the perfect place!
I'll get you at 6pm? Is that okay? We can drive to the edge of the forest and can continue walking from there on.
Emma smiled as she typped her answer.
Perfect.
David has a tent and an air mattress.
Almost immediately a new message arrived.
Great. I'm looking forward to it!
See you on Saturday
Quickly, Emma replied "Me too" and put her phone away. With a smile on her lips, she sank into her pillow and fell asleep.
