Chapter 38

Taylor POV

My body stings every where. It feels as if the wolfsbane is burning off every piece of skin that's on my body. I hear the muffles of my sisters scream but then the wolfsbane gets in my ears and I can no longer hear. My eyes are burning so much I can't even see out of them, everything is blurry.

Kendall runs up to me and Tabby undoes the spell and takes me out of the chair. My weak limp body fell to the ground, being unable to walk or even move. I feel hands pick me up in a fireman's carry. Jack. I try to speak but I realize my tounge cannot form the words I want to say. My lips sting and I'm afraid to even move. I don't want to die, I can't leave my sister alone in this new scary world of supernatural creatures. But my vision fades and I only see darkness.

Kendall POV
"Please stay with us Taylor"I say crying. My brother doesn't deserve this. He doesn't deserve to die. He was the one person who raised me my whole life. We've always been there for each other. He's my best friend.

"I know someone who can help" jack says.

"You drive" I say and give my keys to him.

I stay in the backseat with Taylor and keep checking his pulse. But it's getting weaker.

"Come on Taylor don't give up" I say looking at his closed eyes and sweaty face. "His pulse is slowing down" I say aloud.

"Keep him cold." Jack says.

I blow on his face until we arrive at a hospital. How will we explain this?

"Stay here I'll go get my friend" jack says.

In the little time I'm alone with my dying brother in the car I think of all of the stupid fights we've had and regret them all. His body is taken away from me and put on a stretcher but I make sure to whisper "I love you"in his ear.

(Time lapse)

I wait in the waiting room for what seems like forever. My foot tapping continuously on the ground. Jack sits next to me and holds me in his arms. Holds me together as I break down. How could this happen? Why wasn't I there to protect my brother?

Jack POV
I look at Kendall and see she is about to break down. She has been through so much in such a short amount of time. I wrap my arms around her small body but don't say anything. She breaks down and cries into my shoulder. She shouldn't have to go through this. She just found out about the supernatural world and now it's her own world that's crashing down. And in that moment I just sit there and hold her. Hold her together because she has been trying so hard for so long to hold everything together and I know she needed to let it go.

Sydney POV
I'm on my phone when I get a text from Mr.O and my heart skips a beat. Then I remind myself that he's a teacher and I'm a student and it would never happen. He told me I got an A on my test.

I don't know if it's from getting told I got an A or from Mr.Os name popping up on my phone, but I get a sense of happiness. I reply back:

"Yay thanks for letting me know :)"

I decide to work on some homework because I'm a huge procrastinator and am trying to break that habit. A few minutes in and I get a text from Kendall. "There's something wrong with Taylor. Come to the hospital" my heart starts racing and I get my keys and walk out the door.

When I get to the hospital I immediately hug her and she tells me what happened. "What about the doctors and him being a werewolf" I whisper the last part.

"My friend is a doctor who is also a werewolf and he's working on him. Don't worry he's safe here." Jack says, wrapping his arms around Kendall. We all sit back down and just wait for the doctor to come out and tell us something. I text Mr.O and tell him what's happening. He offered to come to the hospital but I told him he doesn't need to and it may look weird. A doctor starts walking toward us.
"Are you with Taylor?" He asks.
"Yes" Kendall replies.
"Your brother suffered some serious burns but he's gonna be okay. I want to keep him here overnight for observation but tomorrow he can go home if his tests come back good. Wolfsbane can be deadly to werewolves. So I suggest staying out of it. However I feel like this wasn't an accident. Is everything okay?" He asks.
She looks at Jack. Jack nods and then the doctor starts taking us to his room.
